Have great ideas but unsure how to make them into something radio ready? Tired of getting poor results? LET ME HELP! I've worked with record labels such as Universal Music, Sony Music, Ninja Tune Records to name a few. Have worked with big name brands like Maybelline NY and shared writing sessions with writers for David Guetta and Little Mix!
Hey guys I'm Jax! Thanks for clicking my profile on SoundBetter! :)
So who am I? -
I am originally from Southampton, UK but I commute to studios in and around London regularly. I play guitar, piano, bass, and drums but my real skill set lies in creating full ideas within my DAW and producing full instrumentals!
What I do? -
I take the simplest of idea from an artist, whether it's a simple vocal idea or a previously recorded demo. I then create/recreate the idea and make it into a fully finished radio ready track! I pride myself on making sure the artist does have large involvement with the process as at the end of the day, You are the face of the song and I want you to be proud of what we have created together!
I remember what it's like to be the artist and I ALWAYS treat my clients the way i would want to be treated! If I feel the track we have worked on really hits, I'm also happy to pitch anything I think I can help to my network of contacts as I'm always happy to help! I'm super lenient with publishing splits and this can be discussed before starting a project to make sure everyone is happy! :)
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

It was great working with Jax, a very talented songwriter and producer. He was very professional and a clear communicator.
Jax is an incredibly talented as a producer, engineer and songwriter! He takes his time to understand your vision and wants to collaborate on ideas to bring out the best in both vocal and track production. Really easy to work with. Studio is a relaxed environment where artists feels comfortable being creative. Definitely reach out if you’re thinking of doing so!
Been working with Jax on multiple projects for a couple of months and the final pieces never fail to amaze me. With my most recent solo track Jax was able to take my song idea and produce and develop everything exactly the way I imagined it. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone and can't wait to work with him again.
Interview with Jax Delamare
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: My advice is if your looking for someone who you really want to understand your music and give it the most potential possible of becoming successful on a budget, and not someone who just see's it as another pay cheque then work with someone like myself!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Apple Mac, Audio Interface (of some kind) Gibson Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar, Sony C800g mic, Alesis VI61 Midi Keyboard
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Brittney Bouchard, She is a great writer and vocalist and generally a great person!
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Just recently I worked on a project with a good friend of mine Roisin McCarney (Go check her music out) and within a week of completion the track was pitched and signed to a record label! I was the Producer, Mix Engineer and Mastering Engineer on the project!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently working on some of my own material to be pitched to some dance labels in Germany
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, Being honest its just what i've always used. Never really had the chance to work with outboard consoles etc
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will give you 100% of my time, attention and abilities on your project
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love how every project is a journey and there is never a same outcome form project to project!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How do you work so quickly is the main one... I always say organisation is everything when it comes to efficiency! I think this is for both parties as well! Well labeled stems are sooo appreciated when loading them into a new project!!!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That music professionals should work for fun as it is a fun thing to do... We work long hours, have spent many many years learning our skills and have bills like everyone else man!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: The best way to get a great start is to answer the following: - Usually a couple of reference tracks are extremely helpful! - Where do you see the track going is it a single, album track etc. - What is the narrative of the song (if any)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out as a Singer/Songwriter for numerous Rock/Pop bands. Touring around the UK and Europe playing venues and festivals and supporting some big names at the time. I found a love for music production soon afterwards as I loved how I didn't need to be in a band to create the songs I was writing. I've been working in music for over a decade now but still have sooo much I want to achieve!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe myself as a laid back easy going sort of guy. But when it comes to work I am the complete opposite! I like to get things done and I don't really rest until they are!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Zedd! He is an outstanding producer/writer/DJ etc and he just has the cleanest sounding mixes!! I would definitely learn a lot!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: EQ your reverbs and delays!!!! Really does lead to a better overall production and mix!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: My main genres are Pop, Rock, and EDM. But i can produce Pop/RnB and Tech House styles as well!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I never really like to answer this question but if I had to say overall its creating catchy melodies. Whether thats within songwriting or production, I can't enjoy a track if it doesn't have a strong hook within it!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think I bring a strong creative dynamic to a songs production. Most of my clients are always saying to me "It's amazing how you did that as I never would have thought to do that or put that in there" which Is a great feeling when you hear this!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical work process is to digest the project at hand and really try to understand what it is the client wants and then figuring out what needs to be added or subtracted from the overall (Usually a demo). This leads to trial and error meaning trying new ideas/parts/structures to a track. Then finally once that is complete it is about shaping the track into something the client and myself have discussed and enhancing the overall vision and executing it professionally!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a small studio set. I work with an Imac using Logic Pro x. I'm a huge fan of Nexus 3 and Sylenth Vst's (many other's also but they are my go to) I have an Apogee Duet 2 I use as my Audio Interface and I have KRK Rokit 5's as well as Yamaha HS7's studio monitors. I also have some great mixing plugins like all Waves, FabFilter, Izotope etc
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm a huge fan of Max Martin! I love the whole concept of being an overall creative and collaborating with other talented musicians and helping to shape projects for the better and watching the process of them grow into something very exciting! I think Max Martin has definitely inspired me to never be comfortable with your first idea!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common type of work I do for my clients is overall enhancement of production. A lot of artists reach out to me looking for a way to improve their own ideas whether that be a total overhaul of the production of the track or taking their demo and enhancing it to the next level.
