Interview with Nicola Giorgetti
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Before making the mix, I like to listen to the song and its structure only by making levels and pan, I listen to it several times without touching it, to understand well the message of the song. The rest of the work consists in giving the song the maximum expression and the maximum emotion.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: For the Mix I use a hybrid system composed of Pro Tools and the MCI 636 analog console, I use several analog outboards, integrated in the digital system. I take comfort from the digital world and integrate it with the beautiful sound of analog machines
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I especially love Dave Grohl, I love him as a drummer, as a producer, as a guitarist, and as a singer, and as a Foo Fighters frontman, he is my favorite musician, he is a piece of music history for me. As a sound engineer I really like Cris Lord Alge, he has mixed many world hits for many musical genres and has won many grammies award.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I make recordings, productions, mixing and mastering, with pro tools and analog gears, as in the best productions
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I always recommend dubbing the guitars and dubbing the backing vocals, to have a super wide stereo effect in the mix :)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work in the Rock, Pop, Punk, Reggae, Hip Hop, Rap and EDM genres In he past I have worked a lot with jazz and classical .. I feel comfortable with all musical genres, I like to enhance the emotions that music gives.
