Jessie and I have sung together on our worship team, and every single time is a delight. It's obvious she is miles above a lot other people (myself included) both musically and in experience ,but her professional manner and sweet heart make it treat and inspiration to work with her. Interview with Jessica Hoover

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently finishing my own EP while still working with clients :)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Oh goodness analog all the way, if accessible. The difference you hear in a very expensive (for good reasons) studio is marvelous. It's so smooth. But with all of the plugins these companies have come out with over the past few years to recreate those sounds, you can get it pretty darn close with digital!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The quality will be excellent of whatever we work on together. I'm too much of a perfectionist for it not to be! :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been songwriting for 15 years, professionally singing for 11 years, and professionally producing for 3+ years. I love it!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I love adding little orchestral elements here and there when I can.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Sasha Sloan! Jessie Reyez! Olivia O'Brien! Those ladies tell it like it is in their songwriting, and sweet heavens I love their music.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Noise gate can be your best friend and your worst enemy. Add it to your VoiceOver or vocals on your project and it elevates it, but make sure you're checking every breath or laugh your client makes. A sign of too much noise gate is when those sounds are broken up.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Typically more "acoustic style" types of projects, or electro pop, but really it varies all of the time! I've done all sorts of projects for clients, from music with crazy sampling, to songs about their dog, to Top 40 songs. My weakest genre is Hip-Hop, just because I haven't worked with many artists in that genre.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Vocals are my bread & butter. Where I truly excel is in all aspects of Vocal Production in a clients song- we'll keep working until we have the best vocals all around.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Passion, honesty, rawness. Music that hits you in the feels. I love working on songs based off of either mine or my client's experiences, because chances are there are many other people who can relate. It hits home on another level.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Love chatting with my clients first for a free 30 minute call to discuss what their vision is and how we can bring it to life. Then I get to work! Songwriting, laying down instrument tracks, experimenting with plug-ins, recording vocals, comping, fine-tuning, mixing, all while discussing with the client along the way.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: She's small but mighty! :) I have a room set up for all of my recording needs, and so far, it works!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most commonly, I'm producing originals or cover songs for artists, songwriting, and vocal producing.
