Want to collaborate and make a great song? Want to get it sounding exactly how it does in the studio inside your brain? If you’re a singer/songwriter looking for a producer to curate a full band sound for your tracks or if you’re a pop artist looking for help with songwriting, lyrics and high-end production I'm the man for you...
Simon Bradshaw (AKA WeatheredMan) is a performer, songwriter and producer currently working out of a number of studios across the north of England. After many years of various bands and projects, he has accumulated support from all the UK’s premier tastemakers (NME, Q, Mojo, Lamacq, Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe and his treasured John Peel session), completed mulitiple US and European tours (including 3 trips to SXSW) and has synched songs to films and TV shows such as Snatch and Gossip Girl. Still recording as WeatheredMan, last year his many volumes of varied output were recognised when he was nominated as Best UK Solo Artist and for Best UK Song by the indie bible Pure M. As well as releasing a recent EP, he is currently working on the soundtrack and songs for a new UK TV series about an ageing boyband which features several legends of British comedy.
This year alone he has been working with K-Pop supergroup Super M, members of multi-million streaming indie band Skinny Living plus collaborations with producers such as Steven Manovski, Y.K. from Sondr (both BMG) and Luke Moseley.

Having worked with Simon for over a decade I can say he is personable, reliable and focused. We’ve worked on a diverse range of projects and will continue to work together for the foreseeable future. Simon lives and breaths music and I am always impressed by his ability to cross genres so easily, we’ve worked on rock, indie, pop, electro and even a few metal tracks together. I’ve recommended Simon many times and always had very positive feedback from the results.
What a professional. I whole-heartedly recommend. His broad influence base really helped to bring the final product together. His enthusiasm shone through the project and he was a great laugh too.
Working with Simon was a really rewarding experience. His professionalism, musical expertise and ability to put me at ease, enhanced my vocal performance on studio recordings. I've also used him for video production and been equally thrilled with the outcome. Can't recommend highly enough!

Interview with Simon Bradshaw
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: So the track that is on my listing by Tori Smith I'm currently really proud of because I think its exactly what I'm looking to do - great, modern, pop music but with real feel and authenticity. It just landed beautifully.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: 2 albums for a UK artist. Loads of sync work (both corporate and for TV/Film). Tracks for artists that are attached to my management company. More K-Pop work!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Brent March. Top top producer.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog. But you know I totally appreciate the digital revolution...
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I won't stop working on the song until it's exactly where you want it to be.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Everything. It's the best and has always been my dream.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Just about my experiences. I've got tonnes of old stories about all of this as answers. But this isn't about me. It's about your song...
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it is in some ways glamourous. It's lovely but it ain't fancy...
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What does this song sound like in your head?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: That using someone on Soundbetter is a brilliant idea. I wish I had this amount of access to experienced and amazing producers when I was in bands! Speak to a few people. See if they get where you're coming from...
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Gretch Baritone guitar. Aston mic. Logic Pro. Black Box Saturation. Valhalla Reverb.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Songwriting for nearly 30 years. Signed indie bands through out my 20's. Producer for 15 years. Loved music since the womb.
Q: How would you describe your style?
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Right now? Billie Eilish.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more people!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Alternative and independent music has been my staple for years but you know I've just co-written a track for K-Pop behemoths Super M so anything goes really. I just like it to have some soul and honesty...
Q: What's your strongest skill?
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Texture. Experience. The ability to successfully put together the client's vision for the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Very much depends on the situation and what the client is brining in terms of ideas and inspiration. But you know...a few discussions, maybe an online rehearsal and discussion around performance, couple of days recording and a couple of days mixing...
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Simple. Nice pre amp and soundcard. Lots of fine sounding instruments. And I'm very much a less is more producer in terms of plugins - I've got a few excellent ones and and I know how to us them well!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Jack White. Beck. Daft Punk. People who use technology to make something sound very, very human.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually help work on the composition - both music and lyrics - and then produce, mix and master the track. All of this though is in total collaboration with the artist. I'm very much here to make sure the client gets the outcome they were looking for.
