Singer, songwriter, brass

I'm a brass player and singer with over ten years experience on stage and in the studio. I play Trumpet/Flugelhorn for The South (formerly Beautiful South) and I've shared the stage and studio with members of The Specials, Happy Mondays, Black Grape, Vintage Trouble, The Jam and many more. Debut solo album 'As Long As I'm Singing' released in 2018.

I'm an experienced brass player and singer based in Leicester in the East Midlands, UK. I'm a trumpet, cornet and flugelhorn specialist but can also play the other instruments in the brass family. I'm currently trumpet/flugelhorn for The South (formerly Beautiful South) and in 2018, released my debut solo album, 'As Long As I'm Singing'. I've shared the stage and studio with members of The Specials, Happy Mondays, Black Grape, Vintage Trouble, The Jam, Lira and many more, and also work in education as Musical Director of DeMontfort University Jazz Band, Head of Brass at The Mead Educational Trust and Vocal Coach at Babington Academy.

Having worked in every style from jazz to funk, pop, soul, reggae, ska, hip-hop, Grime, R&B and classical, I've worked in the studio with many acclaimed producers on platinum-selling albums, and also have experience in arranging and writing parts for big band, brass sections, backing vocals and string sections. I've written songs, both lyrics and music as part of a writing team and alone, for a number of years, and as a founder member and singer of New Orleans-inspired outfit, King Brasstards, I've been involved in writing, arranging and recording their last two albums. I'm currently working on the third, which will feature contributions from a myriad of guest artists including Dennis Rollins, Lisa Millett and Ashley Slater (Freak Power).
