I have played many basses for many artists and offer a fully professional recording service for electric and acoustic bass. Credits include: David Gray, Talk Talk, Fairground Attraction, Brian Eno, Michael Jackson, Peggy Seeger. I also collaborate with writing and production and mix in Protools.
I have Neve, API and Universal Audio preamps and compressors and can mic using Vintage AKG, Neumann and many other microphones. I also have a choice of solid state or vintage valve bass amps. Please see a selection of instruments listed below. I always suggest that we discuss details of the project before I record. I can work from an mp3 or stems of submixes. I will provide a rough mix of the track with my recorded bass and can offer further recording if any changes are necessary depending on the agreed price. When you are satisfied with the work ,I will send the individual .wav bass files.

A: A great bass part can bring out the heart of a song. It has the ability to change the emotion of a moment by the simple shifting of a note. Creating tension and release. I like to think of the bass as musical architecture. Shaping and sculpting the music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Firstly to talk with the artist/producer and get a sense of the musical style and sonic world of the music. Discuss if there are particular sections or other parts to highlight. Then play !
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a Protools set up with an RME interface and Neve and API preamps and EQ. Radial DI and Drawmer valve compression. I have both solid state and vintage valve bass amps and Vintage and modern AKG, Neumann, SE and Beyer microphones. Tannoy and Eve monitoring.
