I'm a versatile session drummer based in Copenhagen, specializing in rock, pop, country, latin, blues, jazz, and more. My focus is always on playing what's best for the song. People often describe my style as "tasty," with a natural ability to find the perfect part that matches the artist's vision.
I love being part of the creative process, whether in the studio or on stage, where I bring my experience and help unite the band.
Aside from working with other artists, I also write and release my own music through my project, Radio Galaksy. I'm excited to share that I'm currently working on the third album. I also run my own studio, where I produce music for various clients.
In addition, I teach music—drums, guitar, piano, bass, and lead bands—both in my studio and online. I enjoy helping aspiring musicians grow and find their sound.

Søren was awesome! Gave our track exactly the sound we were looking for and really brought it to life! Was also super communicative and very easy to work with, I'd highly recommend him and hope to collaborate more in the future!

Søren is an amazing, top-notch drummer whose playing was perfect on my project. My moderate-tempo song required a drummer with excellent timing and skill. I am 100% pleased with the fantastic, beautifully-crafted tracks that Søren laid down. Regarding the process of working with him, he was extremely professional and delivered his excellent work before the due date. I highly recommend contacting him and discussing your project with him. If you hire him, you won’t be disappointed!
Interview with Søren Jensen
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm very proud of Radio Galaksy, a project I have with a musical partner. We are currently working on our third album and the first single has just been released. I'm the composer, engineer, drummer, producer and a little bit of everything. Love it!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: An album for for a client, a single plus my own project: Radio Galaksy.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not that I'm aware of right now.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. I try to stay as analog for as long as possible. But obviously the digital possibilities are incredible. This is the reason Im working in Luna. It gives me an analog illusion and I really love setting up mics with all their preamps, tapes, summing etc. It just gives the glue we all need!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will make their song better by adding my drums.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The versatility, and the fact that I have to be very multifaceted to get gigs and make a living.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: If I would like to add my drums on their project. And yes, of course.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That musicians just hang out every night until 2 am getting drunk. That doesn't really happen that often :-) Usually driving on gigs. That does it!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I'm just asking a few things about music references, the degree of details they are looking for and the overall picture.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: That they're in good hands and Im sure we'll make it work.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A drum set, a guitar, a bass, a piano and a shaker!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 30 years. Since high school. Studied music at university and The Drummers Collective in New York. Amazing place! I always wanted to play and teach music, and it has worked out. Not easy, but it can be done. I also wrote a drum book: Kadaboum. An English version is coming up (first one is in danish, my native language).
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My playing style is definitely rock/ pop. But I'm also inspired by jazz, latin, electronic and other more advanced stuff. So it's a bit eclectic. However, I always try to adapt to the situation and using my ears to make I work.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Rick Rubin could be fun!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make the right sound on the spot. Then you don't have to make it all up afterwards in the next process.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: The style is typically rock, pop, country, singer/ songwriter or more edgy stuff.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My overall sound on the drums combined with a lot of experience.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I like to think that I bring some human touch, energy and maybe a few strokes that the producer/ composer wouldn't have imagined, but that it still works, thereby adding some more flavour to the party.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listening, setting up all the mics. And then I just start to record. Sometimes it goes pretty fast, and sometimes a part needs more time. I usually use full takes.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I play a vintage Ludwig kit from 1964. Snares are Ludwig Supraponic and Slingerland COB, both 6" deep. I track through Apollox8p and Apollo8p. So 16 amazing inputs without latency. Mics Neumann u89i, Neumann km185, Sennheiser MD421, Universal Audio d7, AKG C414. And I love working in Luna. It gives the sound such a warm and analog sound, though it's still digital.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm very inspired by Rick Rubin these days with his overall approach and thoughts. Also bringing some real instruments to the digital world really drives me. I think that can make it more interesting, and I easily get bored by only machines doing the job.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually record a full drum set with 10 mics up. The style is typically rock, pop, country, singer/ songwriter or more edgy stuff. I don't edit so much, but I make sure that everything works and has a nice feel.
