Endorse Voli MartungWhen I first met Voli, I was amazed at the range of talent he had on top of his passion and drive. Over the years, he not only proved to be a true creator but also a real professional. He is optimistic and proactive. Most importantly, he is always communicative, which makes him stand out as a songwriter, producer and artist. If you're looking for a great human being who can bring versatility to everything he touches, Voli's your guy.
I spent many years in studios learning the craft as well as collaborating in multiple bands as a guitarist, songwriter. When it came time to do my solo project I ended up working with Voli and it was an an amazing experience. I've always loved his artistry but we were different genres. I was stoked to work with him when I realized his mastery of pro tools would enable me to focus on being the artist. The grounding he provided was so super phenomenal that I became intrigued about including him on song writing which carried over into the final mixing. So grateful for his supportive energy!
voli, a true talent, someone who recognizes his own talent and those who are in the room surrounding him. lifting his collaborators up to create the best possible song. i love working with this dude and can't wait to grab another date!
One talented individual with a strong & impeccable work ethic. A true pro. Voli is solid and delivers.
I have worked with Voli for a few years now and haven't come across a more talented, diligent, knowledgeable, and thorough producer. When it comes to writing, he is the kind of partner that encourages and makes you feel comfortable creating. He has an ear for melodies and knows how to direct and execute. From creation to completion, Voli makes sure the finished work is not only pristine but it's also groundbreaking, thought-provoking, and full of musical greatness. He's dope.

My guy! I could always count on Voli to create custom work on spec for Film & TV. He took direction well, asked all the right questions and delivered in a timely fashion. He's not only professional but damn good at what he does. Not many people can say they are successful songwriters, producers and artist. Voli is the whole package and I will continue to work with him when I can and will never stop promoting him.
Voli was such a wonderful partner to work with. Creative, professional, patient, an ideal collaborator for our team working with tight deadlines and a challenging client. We're so proud of the work we did together, hope we can find more ways to work together again!
Voli is truly a Swiss army knife - and a damn good one! The man can do it all. I've had several of my artists work with him in different capacities and he has over-delivered in every instance. Voli is a tireless worker who will do whatever it takes for the sake of the project. I'm honored to know him and excited for what else is to come from him!
Voli is incredible! I’ve worked with him a ton on everything from sync to artist pitch, to my own stuff. He foes above and beyond to understand the core nature of what you’re vision is and then basically crushes it lol. Highly recommend working with him on any level. Tracks are siiiick🔥
Voli is a true professional. One of the most creative minds I've had the pleasure of working with. As a guitarist I've worked with him over the years on various projects, and I definitely credit him for helping me grow as musician. He has an ear like no other and brings out the best in anyone he works with. His tunnel vision and dedication to his work is an invaluable asset to any project. Can't recommend this man enough.
Voli is not only an incredible creator but a champion for those he works with. Always honored to have the opportunity to work with him!

If you want it done and crisp you want to work with this dude. I can’t say enough good about him without sounding like he wrote me check lol! Get em while you can still afford him. 😉
Voli is a beast! Everything I've ever heard him do is incredible. Vastly creative, undeniably different, and don't even get me started on his mixes - crisp, clear, heavy, wide and beautiful all at the same time. This dude knows whats up. 10/10 hire this man.
Voli is an incredible creative! Having worked with him in numerous sync camps and as a sync client there is such an genuine energy he brings to the table that is truly unmatched. Voli is an incredible example of a producer that is dependable and a great communicator. Most importantly Voli is a kind and hardworking human being with the technical ability and creative talents to elevate any project he's called to do.

Interview with Voli Martung
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: - Toplined and getting a possible vocal feature on the upcoming Alan Walker album, fingers crossed - Co-wrote and co-produced "Nectar" on for K-Pop group NCT 127's new album with WayV on the vocals - Just did some production and vocal editing for Jose Ramos (who was in Hamilton Chicago) - I just got finished mixing Mustafa Shakir's album. He's a great rapper and awesome actor (Netflix "Luke Cage" and "Cowboy Bebop") "The Deuce"
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Ashley Levy definitely is amazing. Jordyn Kane and Aaron Blackmar are both incredible.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: - I love the ad/production work I've done with my production partner Young Guru. we worked with Visa, BBDo, The Marketing Arm, Time Warner on a mixture of things where I produced, toplined, mixed. I love work where I get to blend all of my different hats.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Depends on the situation. I'm not an either or guy. I love a world where both are used.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'll always communicate with you and I will treat your project like my baby.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It's different every day and I love creating "things" period.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "What do you charge?" And I reply, "Well, tell me what you want to do and what your budget is, and I'll tell you what I can provide for you. I try my best to work with my clients' wallets because every situation is different."
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's fun all the time and relatively easy compared to other lines of work. No days off and requires a lot of self-discipline, organization, and initiative.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are you trying to do? What is your budget? What is your timeline?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be honest about your expectations, budget, and timeline. Communication is key.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Shure SM7B, Macbook Pro, Subpac with Sony MDR-7506 headphones, Adam A7xs, Apollo Twin. Sorry that's technically 6.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: That's a long story lol. But I've stretched from rapping as a teenager to producing for major artists and companies, all by exploring the different sides of the music and entertainment industry.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Flexible, dynamic, most of the time a bit darker/minor chord-ish but can be upbeat major when it feels right.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I don't have a wish list. I'm just grateful to collaborate with people I connect with personality-wise and workflow-wise. Talent is a fraction of it.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't be married to anything. Try things out and try to be remember it's not about the track it's about the final song/project.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think the biggest thing is my perspective. If I'm in a session with an artist who is focusing on sync, I pinpoint the sound to drive towards and go from there. But if we're dealing with something more abstract and bigger picture for an artist or film, I try to keep that concept in mind and help guide all the sonic and lyrical elements that need to come together to realize that vision.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: There's never a standard. Because I wear so many hats, I jump around to whatever's needed. It depends on the objective and the client. I always keep it fluid and pride myself on being easy to work with and reliable.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I typically bounce around studios but since the pandemic hit, I've mainly been working from my home studio virtually. I've got a collection of analog preamps and compressors (Warm Audio, Neve) mics (Neumann TLM103, Shure SM7B) Yamaha and Adams monitors.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love Rick Rubin because he has a holistic approaching to guiding artists while also being passive in that guidance.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I have a passion for sync music (film and television) because it creates potential exposure and financial income for artists and producers outside of sales. So I end up working with a lot of ad agencies, film studios, and creatively with artists and producers doing anything from writing and toplining, to producing and mixing.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: It's a wide range from pop to hip hop to trailer music. I love it all.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Again, my perspective and reliability. Making the music a lot of times is the easy part once you have the right intention. From there, the logistics of producing with the right sounds or getting the right vocal takes/comps is just step by step. I/We will get it done.
