Mix Engineer & studio/touring bassist with top gear. The only thing I can promise is that I can make your track feel good. I want to work with you to make a great record! I prefer to let other people do the talking, so check out the testimonials in my description...
Testimonials:
“You are BADASS… There is feel. We all know what it is. We all long for it. And we all work hard for it. But sometimes it’s just not really there. I can make it appear to be there with a lot of keystrokes and fool everybody, but it’s not the same for me. Every track has a depth and pocket and cool. It’s an honour to work on this record.” – Trina Shoemaker (Queens Of The Stoneage, Cheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris)
“Josh is always my first port of call whenever a bass player is needed in the studio and he’s done an amazing job on countless sessions and albums. He just picks stuff up so quick, and he can adjust his great feel to any genre you could mention. A brilliant player and a lovely guy too!” – Richard Neuberg (Producer at Strawhouse Studios)
“Josh Rigal plays bass with a flair for grooviness. He can swing, shuffle or do the steady 8 thing whilst all the time staying locked. He excels at picking up new material and will stay simple or get creative with equal skill, He’s great both in the studio and performing and has some top quality gear and instruments. He’s reliable, punctual and super easy to get on with. I highly recommend him.” – Glenn Skinner (Producer of Lighthouse Family, Boy George, Waterfront, Debbie Harry, and Deborah Bonham)

Endorse Joshua RigalWe recently had a couple of days recording with Josh and had a brilliant experience. Josh is not only a great producer but also a top musician. His experience in both of these areas meant he was able to put the band at ease in order to get the best performance out of everyone, as well as helping interject his own ideas about how the recording could be improved. Overall, his love of music means he is just as passionate about getting a great recording as the artists, and I would highly recommend for anyone looking to record!
My band recently recorded a new single with Josh and had a fantastic experience. As a producer Josh is really encouraging and patient, giving us all the time we needed to track our parts and providing plenty of suggestions to help us improve the overall feel of the song. The studio itself it nicely set up and is a very comfortable and relaxing place to spend a day recording. I’d highly recommend working with Josh!
We really enjoyed recording with Josh. He's a great guy and the whole experience was relaxed and fun. He kept everything running smoothly, and suggested some great ideas to get the best out of our performances and the song itself. Would highly recommend!
Great mixing and very easy to communicate and work with. Also the turnaround was great. Josh carefully considered the feedback of all the band members! Thanks :)
Not only is Joshua a killer bass player, he is also a great mixer. I only gave him two mics on my drum set and he made it sound large and clean. He is easy going to work with, plus a quick turnaround.
Josh is an excellent bass player and a consummate professional with incredible attention to detail. His level of preparation is unmatched and his brilliant technical proficiency enables him to remain flexible and full of ideas in any creative situation.
Josh has been an invaluable addition to all the recording and live projects I’ve worked with him on. He’s great to be around and easy to get along with so we always have a cracking time. I would recommend him as a human and a bass player to anyone. I’ve also never seen someone show up to a recording session with so many satsumas."Josh has played bass in my band now for over 2 years. He is quite simply stunning. A laid back, funny and caring guy, but more importantly a killer bass player. He knows exactly when to hold the groove and when to have a little fun. I recently got him to mix our new record also which is due for release later this year. Again, an absolute stellar job. He has a great ear and is a lucky addition to anyone he works with. I hope me and him have years left in our relationship. Krissy Matthews (Jan 21)"
I asked Josh to lay down bass for a track I was working on for a client. Not only did he provide a range of variations of live bass he also sent over options with Moog bass. The final bass line we went with complimented the track excellently and brought the song to life.
Will definitely be hiring Josh again
Josh is a really thoughtful and hardworking engineer. He truly cared about getting my mix to a place where I was pleased with it and he brought exciting ideas into the track that I could have never imagined myself, but made it much more dynamic and interesting. He is an all-around pleasure to work with and a great partner to have.
Yo I needed a last minute mix and asked this dude, he calmed me down and underpromise and overachieved, he did a clear, crispy and awesome mix for me within 24 hours, I could submit a super professional mixed song for a sync opportunity. I hired him also for some bass work later on. He got the groove definitely. This guy is a true blessing and I’m a regular client now. You can’t go wrong with Josh. Peace
