Hi! I'm Pilar :)

I have a smooth and very versatile sound that goes great with indie/acoustic, pop/rock, jazz, latin, rap and electronic genres. I can go from airy mid-low dark/sexy timbres to bright and shiny. I'm ready to do your lead and backing vocals, help you harmonize and create melodies and lyrics for your songs.

My music journey began at EMC, Berklee International Network in Buenos Aires. Since then, I've collaborated with numerous artists, and performed at plenty of venues and festivals across the country.

Here's how our collaboration typically unfolds:

- You message me and tell me what you're looking for. You may attach your song so I can listen to it right away!
- We talk and agree on the terms and once the project is funded, I start working.
- I send mp3 clips for your approval and feedback (first ones usually in less than a week).
- Once you are 100% happy with the results, I send you the dry vocals and you can release the payment.

(Includes 3 FREE revisions. In case more are needed, an additional fee will be requested)

I think communication is key to bring your ideas to life. I'm super friendly and flexible and will always be there to answer to any doubts as soon as I can :)

Interview with Pilar Icazuriaga

Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to take my time to listen to the song and to the references the clients send me. That usually gives me a clearer idea of what they're looking for. Then, I work on the topline or just learn the song in case it's already written, and go straight to recording. I normally work on the lead first, and then I go for the backing vocals and adlibs. Once I have my full idea ready I send it to the client and make the necessary revisions until they're 100% happy with the result.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home studio set up with Wunder FET U47 mic, Apollo Twin converter and virtual UAD pre: Neve 1073, Manely Voxbox, Neve 1084. I work with Protools.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do a lot of toplining, vocals and backing vocals recording. I send everything edited and ready to add to your productions.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I always work with Rodrigo Genni. He is an amazing musician, drummer, percussionist, productor and mixer. If you have a demo and need production, mix or whatever besides lyrics and vocals, let me know and we'll team up.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I know trusting your music to someone you don't know can be a challenge. I'll make sure to provide open communication and an harmonious space to talk about your project and I will work until you are totally happy with the result.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love meeting people all around the world and having the chance to use music as the most beautiful link.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work most frequently on electronic, indie pop, jazz and folk music. But I'm open to explore any genre. I love the challenge!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my strongest skill is my versatility. I can adapt to lots of genres without loosing my own color and authenticity.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: What I bring to songs is an intuitive and sutil interpretation. I love to transmit through airy sounds and I know when to bring a more full voice when necessary. I think it's all about sound exploring and connection.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired by music that instantly puts me in a mood when I listen to it. Some of my favorites now and then are Radiohead, Billie Holiday, Phoebe Bridgers, Jungle, Clairo, Thomas Dybdal, Babasónicos, Fito Páez.
