I want to give you the best possible sounding mix and I will work exceptionally hard until you are 100% satisfied, whether you are an independent artist or a major label artist. I promise great communication and a friendly approach during the mixing process.
Throughout my career, I am thankful to have worked with national and internationally successful artists such as Carly Rae Jepson, Kelsea Ballerini, Melanie Martinez, Canaan Smith, Ben Rector, Vulfpeck, and more. I currently operate out of my private studio The Space Castle in Nashville, TN. If you are in town, I'd love for you to come by to say hello!
Every mix starts with you, so now let’s have a chat… Who are some artists that inspire you? What is your vision for your song, EP, or album? Once I know what vibe you are after it will be quick and easy for me to deliver a great mix for you. I specialize in Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, and Country music, but I love working with new artists in all genres. I will be honest if I am not the right fit for your project and can help steer you in the right direction.
I love helping new artists - no project is too big or small, so feel free to contact me with any questions you have. I look forward to hearing from you!

Could not recommend anyone more highly, Jake's work is amazing and he is a pleasure to work with---mixes sound great, communication is always excellent, just a five star experience all the way!

Killed it again 🔥

After several disappointments with mediocre mixes ranging from $250 to $300 (even though the guys have hundreds of 5-star ratings), I decided to try investing in a more expensive mix.
I contacted Jake to ask him if I could hear more mixes and he sent me a Spotify playlist that convinced me to try him.
The result is really above what the others I tried on Soundbetter did and I understand the price difference. - check_circleVerified
Great experience, and the end results surpassed expectations---great communication, quick revisions, could not recommend any more highly! True pro in every sense, extremely satisfied with the work!

Jake is extremely skilled, professional, and was very patient with me as I delivered to mix the first single off my band's record. The project scope was pretty sizable, and Jake handled it all super smoothly. We needed the right person to handle this song, and Jake absolutely nailed it! We definitely recommend Jake's mixing services.

Great job! Elevated the song.

Jake is incredible! I worked with my song for weeks and had another mixer work with it, but I couldn't get it to sound right. Jake KILLED this track. It's a song that I'm now proud to release. I will end up asking Jake to work on every song of mine from now on! 10/10

Jake is a true professional, gave great feedback and produced a truly polished mix - love it!

As a Singer/Songwriter, it's safe to say I'm naturally very picky with who I involve on a song. You put your heart and soul into writing the "perfect" tune, and create a vision of what it'll grow up to be. I described my vision to Jake, and I was wildly impressed. He recommended extra things that it needed to live up to that vision, was very patient with some recording obstacles on my end, and delivered the BEST mix and vocal editing that I could have ever imagined. Truly amazing work.

A top professional and top result!
Jake was able to communicate clearly during the process, and really helped making the song come to life. Loved working with him and would definitely come back with my next song

Jake is the living embodiment of what they rightly say "Get it right the first time". Extremely well versed with all musical ideas and genres, this has been the easiest mix/master job we've undertaken anywhere. World class abilities with genuinely humble work ethic, Jake is a complete modern day professional. Super happy with his work. Hope to continue with more songs now.

Jake is an excellent mastering ingeneer. He pays attention to tiny details and advise client from the first meeting to the end of the mastering process . He is a great listener and will follow through with all suggestion. He will take time to understand your vision of the song and learn about your expectation or you reference artist . Most importantly , he remains accessible and deliver promptly when all is submitted. I would say contrary to most ingeneer I know, he is patient.

If you're like me and struggle with quality sound then let jake have a go at a mix. He turned my song into punchy, tight and full mix. On top of that he had a mix ready for me within days for an outstanding price. See you on the next mix jake. Thank you!

Interview with Jake Hartsfield
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I wrote songs and played in a pop/rock band growing up, toying around in Pro Tools to record songs we'd written. I moved to Nashville in 2007 and immediately began producing & mixing artists I met around town. In 2009, I was invited to tour with a band called Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown as their Front of House engineer - Our first tour was opening for Styx, REO Speedwagon, and 38 Special. I soon began Tour Managing as well & toured with other artists out of Nashville (a few out of LA) like Matt Wertz, Megan & Liz, Mikeschair, and Denver & the Mile High Orchestra. During this time, I moved into a studio on Music Row and I was also producing and mixing projects. In late 2014, I took a break from touring to turn my focus to full-time studio production and mixing, which I've been doing since.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Rock, Country, CCM / Worship
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I work extremely hard to deliver the final mix you want the first time, and I will continue working until you are 100% satisfied!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Musicality, Creativity, Attention to detail, Polish
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Mixing musically. To be more specific, hearing what an artist or producer hears in their head and being able to replicate and deliver exactly what they want.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: "Reckless" by LOCKHART - My friend Jordan Kyle Reynolds produced this album and I mixed it. Lockhart is a country duo comprising Johnny Bulford and Janell Wheeler. As a songwriter, Johnny has written 3 Top 5 Country hits, including Lee Brice's #1 single "A Woman Like You." I really loved working on this project because the songs are all killer and Jordan is an extraordinarily talented producer...
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Save room in your budget for graphic design and marketing :)
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm a big fan of Manny Marroquin and Serban Ghenea; both are extraordinarily talented and creative mixers. A good percentage of the music I enjoy listening to was mixed by one of those two guys.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I primarily mix albums, EP's, and singles for independent artists, but I am often asked to produce as well. Lately when I've been asked to produce, I will bring on a co-producer that I think will contribute creatively and musically to the project. I like being able to focus on vocal production, editing, and arrangement without being overwhelmed with all of the creative responsibility; that ultimately allows me to be more creative in the mixing process.
