I'm so happy to write this review because I had such a positive experience working with Zak. First and foremost, he's a great engineer and my song turned out clean and well balanced. More importantly, Zak is very communicative and does everything in his power to make sure you're happy with the record. I've had engineers in the past who don't take notes well or rush through their work. Not Zak! He is passionate about each song he tackles and respects the musical process. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a mixing engineer for their song.

  2. A: my laptop, acoustic guitar, sm7b, PMC Result 6s and Apollo twin interface

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: I work with a fantastic producer and musician named Conor tansey who you can also find on soundbetter. If you're looking for a song writer in hip hop, hit up "Dendo", for RnB "Omo Aston" or for gospel/rnb soul, then "tobi- A" is your guy.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: "Why choose when you can bring all your weapons to the gun fight?" - Dave Pensado

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: The joy of making other people happy. (Confelicity)

  9. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  10. A: Production is as simple as 'making a beat'

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: what are their goals, what message are they trying to get across with their music, what elements of their song do they really want to stand out, what do they want me to bring to the table

  13. Q: How would you describe your style?

  14. A: I always try to stand out from the norms. I prioritize dynamics and transients over loudness and brightness

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: Never force anything to work. Learn WHY before HOW

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  18. A: Identifying the artist/producers vision and keeping it in mind while I add my own

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: I mix and produce Mostly in the box. I have a computer which I actually built myself (I trust it more that way) which is running through my UAD Apollo twin X Quad and out through my PMC result 6 monitors. 29. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  30. A: Don't expect to sound like anything other than the best version of yourself
