With a degree in music recording & engineering, a professional specialization in mixing and mastering and more than 15 years behind the wheel as head producer and engineer in commercial studio environments around the globe, it has always been an honor and a privilege to help shape creations into top-end, unique & competitive commercial products.
Having worked on countless commercial productions in a variety of musical styles and markets, my work has reached tens of millions of streams and sales around the planet. Today, I put both my competence and know-how together with my teaching experience and artistic innovation to your service, helping YOU make music and songs that will stand-out and get noticed, no matter the genre.
My main expertise is mixing and its often misunderstood good ol' formatting & final quality control check, i.e. mastering. Though I am professionally specialized in these areas, some say I am also very handy for tuning and editing vocal tracks to (near) perfection in a most natural way (try me, I'm the best out there :P), depending on the genre and the needs. Feel free to ask for more examples of my work if needed.
You may find my services a little higher priced than average, and they might actually be. As much as I believe in top-end, competitive products, I believe in top-end, competitive services, and this is what I offer. However, every project is different, and so are the rates, schedules and budgets to accommodate the needs of each of these projects. Reach out and we can discuss the details of what you need done and find a way to collaborate!
If quality, satisfaction and a smooth ride is what you're looking for, you've come to the right place :)
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Interview with Tony Reign
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I recently mixed and mastered a project where the artist recorded everything in a small cabin studio. Through careful tone shaping and mix dynamics, we turned it into a record that now sounds world-class, proof that emotion and craftsmanship beat expensive rooms every time.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently finalizing mixes for several emerging Canadian and U.S. artists, projects that range from introspective R&B to cinematic hip-hop, each one pushing a unique emotional boundary.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes, I love collaborating with talented vocalists, producers, and instrumentalists on the platform. Each project is an opportunity to connect great minds and make better music.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Analog brings warmth and depth, digital brings precision and recall. The magic is in knowing when to use each, and how to blend them seamlessly.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To treat every record like it is my own release. I never rush, never cut corners, just focus, care, and results that exceed expectations.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Helping artists hear their vision come to life. That moment when they press play and say, “that is it,” is what keeps me doing this every day.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: They often ask how much difference a professional mix and master can really make. My answer, it can completely transform how your music connects, turning something that sounds good into something unforgettable.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That mixing and mastering are just about loudness. In reality, it is about translation, making sure your record feels consistent, balanced, and emotionally engaging everywhere it is played.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I always ask what inspired the track, what emotions they want listeners to feel, and which references best capture the direction they imagine. The more I understand their world, the better I can serve it.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who listens first. The best mix engineer is not the one with the most gear, it is the one who understands your story and helps it connect with listeners.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Genelec 8331 monitors, UAD Apollo interface, MacBook Pro, SM7B mic, and a pair of good headphones, because great sound starts with knowing what you hear.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started over a decade ago producing and mixing for independent artists before founding Reign Studios. Since then, I have helped hundreds of records find their identity and their audience.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clean, powerful, and emotionally connected. I aim for mixes that hit hard but still breathe, modern, yet timeless.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Drake, because his sound lives right at the intersection of emotion and innovation, where small mix decisions carry huge impact. That is where I thrive.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Mix with intention, not habit. Every move should serve the song, not just the meters. Technical perfection means nothing if the feeling is not there.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly modern pop, hip-hop, R&B, and alternative music, but I enjoy anything with real emotion and great songwriting. If it tells a story, I am in.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Translating emotion into sound. I have a precise ear for balance, depth, and tone, but above all, I know how to make music feel the way it is meant to.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Perspective, polish, and emotion. My goal is to bring the song to its fullest potential while keeping the artist’s identity intact. I focus on clarity, dynamics, and energy, making the record feel alive and timeless.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by understanding the artist’s vision and emotional intent. Then I shape the mix from the ground up, balancing technical accuracy with musical feel, and finalize with a master that translates beautifully everywhere. Communication stays open at every step.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Reign Studios is built around a calibrated Genelec monitoring system, treated acoustics, and premium analog-digital hybrid processing. Every mix runs through precision tools, from analog coloration to surgical mastering chains, ensuring clarity, warmth, and impact on every playback system.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I draw inspiration from producers and engineers who blend technical mastery with emotion, names like Noah “40” Shebib, Mike Dean, Serban Ghenea, and MixedByAli. I am fascinated by how they translate raw emotion into sonic perfection.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I specialize in high-end mixing and mastering, helping artists elevate their sound to a release-ready, emotionally engaging, and radio-quality finish. Every project is treated with the same attention to detail as a major-label record.
