Music Producer & Mix Engineer
Musician & Songwriter
As a Music Producer and Mixer, I consider myself as a versatile professional who enjoys always a new challenge. Although as an artist I worked mainly within the pop and latin pop music, my influences vary from metal and rock to pop, urban... I started producing bands at a very young age. My first professional recording studio was a tiny room in México. Luckily, as my band grew, I had the chance to invest and buy gear so that I could grow as well as a Producer and keep learning... Today, I am happy to be able to spend most of my time working in my studio, Deville Garden (Deville Music)
As a Songwriter and Guitarplayer, I have had the chance to enjoy amazing moments: from being recognized by the Latin Grammys with two nominations and receiving the Latin Grammy Award in 2007 to a Grammy Award in 2009. One of the best moments I have lived as a musician and a songwriter, has been having the opportunity to play my songs at the Madison Square Garden in NY, the American Airlines Arena (Miami), the Staples Center (Los Angeles), Gibson Theater (Los Angeles), Coliseum (Puerto Rico), Auditorio de México, Las Ventas (Madrid)...
I love music, and I´m eager to share new experiences with artists, producers and musicians all over the world.
Let´s make some music!

Interview with Pablo Dominguez Deville
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am very proud of almost every project I work on because I always give my 110%. I usually become a good friend of my artists and they keep coming back to my studio... so for me, that´s what I´m really proud of, as it means that I´m doing my job well.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I know several songwriters, singers, and producers. They have always encouraged me to try SoundBetter, so here I am!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both... I use both, and it really depends on the type of project you are working on.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That it is my job!! Music is my job... is there anything better?
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: If I can make them get signed by a multinational. Today, success no longer depends on getting signed by a big record label. It is so much more important to start by getting to know your audience! Work hard on your project, understand the importance of reaching your audience and leard strategies to get there... build your team, and never quit.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I only do Pop. I can work and arrange in almost any style. Sometimes, coming from a band that has had recognition, makes people think that´s the only style you are good at.... not my case!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do they expect from me, and what to they want to achieve?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have no fear in asking for what you really expect from me! I am here to help you have the results you are looking for.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, headphones, keyboard, acoustic guitar and electric guitar...
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been producing since I was 18... I started producing some rock local bands in Madrid. Then, I moved to México City when my band La Quinta Estación got signed by BMG (then Sony Music) in 2002. I have always been Producing, it is my passion and I´m happy to keep learning more and more everyday.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Versatile... I have no boundaries.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: So many!! Dave Grohl, Slash, Jason Newsted, Linda Perry, JLo, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Ed Sheeran... I could go on forever!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never quit, never surrender... give always your best, and good results will end up coming. Sometimes less is more... just do what the song is asking for, let the song talk to you and let the music flow. Find your perfect DAW and be comfortable with it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Urban, Rock, Metal... I can actually work in almost any style or type of music you´re working on!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: To understand what´s exactly what the client expects to receive from me, and rise to the challenge!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My 110%. I try to give always all I have... I know how important a song is for the artist, so I try to always give all my best...my experience and know-how, my love for music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First of all, I like to know what are the client´s feelings about the song... the music he/she likes, and then listen to some references in order to start building the song in my head... once there, anything is possible!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: The studio boss is my SSL. I love mixing my tracks and knowing exactly how amazing the mix will sound.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Producers: Max Martin, CLA, Rick Rubin, Mike Clink, Andrew Sheps, Quincy Jones, Jayden Joshua, Linda Perry, Armando Ávila, Sebastian Krys... I admire so many astists from such different styles of music.... there´s so much talent out there!
