Mastering

Paul Svensson on SoundBetter

My passion for the last 20 years have been the art, science and voodoo of mastering music. Elevating a finished mix is (still) as rewarding as finding a diamond in the mud and washing it and polishing it to a fine shine. The true joy lies in providing a valuable service and handing the diamond over to the artist/band.

My name is Paul and I grew up in a musical family in Sweden. I got a drumkit from my dad when I was four years old. I got a cassette player when was five, a guitar when I was 12....and you get the idea. I've always been curious and driven by learning new things. I've played in many bands and for years I made a living as a touring musician. Having written, composed, sound designing, recorded, mixing and mastered my own music, my bands and other people's music I fell in love with the finalizing art - the last step that encapsules the music for decades to come.

For the last 26 years I've been mastering music and for the last 5 years I've been REALLY focusing on mastering. Currently running an analog and digital hybrid mastering studio located 150km east of Stockholm in the sleepy town of Köping.

Having someone else master your music, that you've poured your time, heart and soul into, can be scary. That's why I offer a free mastering "taster" for new clients. Mastering is to the bigger part a matter of trust.

As a music-lover I've very broad. Same goes with my mastering of genres.I can take on pretty much any genre from noise to jazz.

Here are some of my mastered songs (currently some 70+ songs):
