I had a song that was outdated and needed someone to completely, re-produce, re-make, re-record, remix, re-master and track the whole song. Interview with Producer Stylzkeyz

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m presently working with a client that had a record produced and brought it rob me for a recording session in my studio. When I heard it had a sample in it that was out of key to the 808. I told my client I didn’t know what key to put Autotune on for his vocal. The sample or bass lol. Then he told me was gonna have this distributed on all platforms. So I told him I could reproduce the actual sample to make it an interpolation then redo the surrounding production. Mix and master etc. This would allow him not have to have to clear both the master recording license just the Publishing license at most if at all. Because it has become a different intellectual work.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Record analog into a digital domain to add even order harmonic distortion. When the project is over then run it through a analog summing unit to round out the edges. The Best of both worlds!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is that I will augment their sound in a timely manner. And that project is not over until they Love it!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Meeting and Working with so many talented people

A: How long will the project take? My answer? when they say they Love it!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Thalevbiggest misconception is that anybody who does beats is a producer. A True producer sees the projects end from the beginning. Can work with a artist or engineer and be concise about what you need to hear and direction the project needs to be in. Can pull the best out of an artist with out destroying the artist ego. Confident about the total sound of not just the music but the song of the writer and the artist lead. Must have good knowledge of mixing so you don’t have to have some engineer tell what you need to do on your production when he doesn’t have the overall vision. A producer is a project manager over distributing and managing the budget to pay musicians, engineers, studio time and sometimes writers. Yet be flexible to what the Executive producers, A&R and labels are looking.

A: What do they expect from me? What is their time frame for this project? What is their overall vision for this project? What would they consider a successful conclusion for this project?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Good consistent communication breeds a solid working relationship and helps to guarantee a great end result

A: My Mac, a Telefunken U47, My Motif XF8, UAD Apollo Interface,and my Sustain pedal lol

A: I’ve Been playing keys for over 30years. I considered myself a professional after signing a pub deal with Dreamworks SKG and applying over 10,000 hours in my craft. My career is simply to assist artist in making their music industry quality and competitive in the market place. And offer my music business knowledge and expertise where needed

Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skills are my hands and ears on the piano. This makes room for any type of project or score I might run into
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My Ears! MY keys! And everything falls in place
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It varies for the job to job. Whether Im Cookin Up a Beat or Editing and Mixing a song or Laying Keys for Other producers. But one thing is constant my communication with my client to know what theirs needs are and do my best to fulfill them And complete them
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My modest studio setup makes is a hybrid of gear and software. I use a Motif XF8, Micro Korg, Rocktron and Heil TalkBox, Native Instrument Komplete Kontrol Keyboard and Ntaive Instrument MK3. As for software I use Spectrasonics Omnisphere, Trillian, Keyscapes Logic Pro X, FL Studio 20, Waves, UVi Workstation, Gospel keys BASSalious, Looperator, Etc. I record through UAD Apollo Through Neve 1073, and Tubetech CL1B chain with EMT 140 Plate (Butta!)
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspire by the “Dude” Quincy Jones, Dr.Dre, Teddy Riley, The Neptune’s and Timbaland. As for musicians Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Joe Sample, Robert Glasper, Alex Bugnon. And Roger and Zapp
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Well I custom make productions by adding unique chord progressions then building an arrangement that contours singer song writer songsI I Also edit, tune, polish, rearrange, and mix clients songs. Lastly I do session work as a pianist/keyboardist for other producers
