Hello, my name is Danylo Dmyterko and I am a Session Drummer based in Vienna. Through my education I am confident to provide authentic results, regardless of your stylistic preference. I can help you SHAPE your production by providing you with HIGH QUALITY drum tracks. Check out my REEL of mostly electronic drum sounds (no samples were used)

I grew up in Vienna, Austria and was fortunate enough to get deeply involved with music at an early age.
After graduating High School, I moved to Boston MA to visit the highly regarded Berklee College of Music.
There I had the incredible opportunity to gain tremendous knowledge beyond just playing the drums.
I have extensive experience as a live drummer, playing gigs across the US and Europe. Through that, I was able to attain the understanding and execution of all the different kinds of music:

- Viennese Style Orchestral Percussion
- Straight Ahead Jazz
- Fusion
- Gospel/ R'n'B
- Rock
- Pop
- Hip Hop/ Trap
- Prog Rock
- ELECTRONIC

My current setup is located in Vienna/ Austria;
I track in a fully treated room, using high quality mics, preamps and converters. I have 3 different drumkits, ranging from a vintage Ludwig Stainless Steel kit, optimal for Rock and Funk tracks, up to a Pearl Masters kit, suitable for Pop/Hip-Hop and Prog

The delivery will be 14 Channels of drums
- Kick In, Kick Out, Sub Kick
- Snare Top, Snare Bottom
- Tom 1, Tom 2, Floor Tom 1, Floor Tom 2
- OH L, OH R
- Room L, Room R
- Sub Room

I want to aid you in your pursuit of creating the PERFECT track

Interview with Danylo Dmyterko

  1. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  2. A: Picking the right drum sounds, the right mics and preamps can elevate your production from good to amazing!

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: I am very fortunate to call myself a well-rounded drummer, offering me the chance o get creative juices flowing in any type of setting, wether it's: Jazz, Rock, Jazz, Funk, Fusion, Prog Rock, Electronic, Drum n'Bass, etc.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: Apart from my drumming, I work as a Mixer and Producer. Having worked in all these fields, I have gathered experience from all different stages in music. I know what steps have led to your demo track and I know how to provide you with the right drumtracks, so that your mixing engineer will have to do as little editing as possible, streamlining the whole process

  7. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  8. A: I see my strength in my sound and my musical/stylistic understanding. Having had the opportunity to study with some of the most esteemed drummers in the world, I was able to develop a sonic maturity at a very early stage. This let's me play authentic grooves and rhythms while adding tasty embellishments

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: Once I receive my client's music, I will give it a critical listening session right away. Given that we had some sort of conversation about where the musical direction is headed, I'll listen for those style defining moments, trying to understand how to get to the result as quickly as possible. Once I've listened to the track(s), I will write a drum chart, so that questions for the artist can be more organized and sectioned appropriately After recording a demo with my own twist to it, the client will receive a rough mixed version of my demo drums in the mix, so they can get an idea sounding as close to the final product as possible. I will ask the client to provide me detailed feedback, so that I can then record 3-5 takes of the final drum part, still giving the customer the chance to pick and choose their favorite parts

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: I run my studio setup in-the-box. At the core of it all is my 2018 i7 Mac Mini, providing me with plenty of processing power I'm deeply involved in the Universal Audio ecosystem, running a set of an Apollo Twin Duo, Apollo x8p and a UAD-2 Satellite Octo This setup gives me the possibility to use industry-standard plugins and preamp emulations Additionally I run a Focusrite Octopre to provide me with additional inputs My studio is a treated room with my drum recording and mixing setup equally in mind, which let's me work efficiently and keeps the process as streamlined as possible

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: I get inspiration from many different people. Mainly drummers, mixing engineers and producers. The list would too long to include everybody, but here are some examples: Drums: Aaron Sterling, Ash Soan, Dave Weckl Mixing Engineers: Jaycen Joshua, Dave Pensado, Josh Gudwin Producers: Stelios, Max Martin, Finneas

  15. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  16. A: Most commonly I get to work as a remote session drummer. Having the opportunity to record many different styles for such a diverse group of people is truly fulfilling! Typically I receive demo tracks with pre-programmed drums, just so I can get an outline of what the artist is hearing and looking for. From there I like to add a little it of my own flavor and send the client a first play-through. Once the customer gives me a feedback, I incorporate all of their notes and send them a 3-5 takes, so they can pcik and choose what they like in post
