I will understand your musical idea and make sure it translates well into the mix. My mixes are the result of german technical precision mixed with international taste and feel for music. What differentiates me from others? Mixing is a creative outlet for me and not simply an engineering task.

Education: Sound & Music Production (B.A.) – University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, Germany

Experience: 14years electronic music production and mixing (EDM, Pop, Dancehall; Reggaeton); 4 Years as freelance studio and live engineer.

I would like to know what you are looking for. Tell me if you have a specific direction in mind, if you are unhappy with something in your song or even if you are unsure what the song needs. I’d be happy to make a suggestion.

Contrary to other mixing engineers I will not simply level/gainstage your tracks. I consider mixing a very creative task and I love to shape a song using my imagination. I will understand your song and find out how I can make it shine. This can range from final polishing to things like creating complex delay and reverb effect automations to make sure your vocals and melodies really connect with the instrumental, I can go as far as suggest vocal effects or adding additional layers to your snares and kicks to help them sound the best, etc.
In general this means that I am your guy if you think that your song arrangement is finished but it is missing a last level of detail.
I will adjust the mix until you are happy with it. I also keep tabs on the latest trends and plugins to deliver the most current sound possible.

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Some mixing work and some passion projects that I produce personally.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Both. Best of both worlds.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I will take you and your music seriously. If you are unhappy or think I got something wrong I will always investigate. I will never default or say things like "it has to be like that because I am a pro".

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: I love the felling when a song 'clicks' and it all suddenly makes sense.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: Some people think mixing is simply a technical task.

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Look for someone who takes your music seriously and really gets it. A lot of people are just defaulting to their routines, which can make your song sound loose its soul.

  17. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  18. A: Started producing

  19. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  20. A: Ability to obsess about details while not loosing focus on the bigger picture.

  21. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  22. A: I have heard Tom DuPree III is an amazing drummer.

  23. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  24. A: What do you like about your song? What does not yet sound like you want it to sound like? Which similar songs do you like?

  25. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  27. Q: How would you describe your style?

  28. A: Clean, Big, Feelings

  29. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  30. A: Starboy/Wizkid/Davido. I love the happy party vibes of their tunes like "Soco" or "If". It would be amazing to make a track like this once.

  31. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  32. A: There are no rules. If it sounds good it sounds good.

  33. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  34. A: Pop, Dancehall, Afrobeat, Hip Hop, Trap

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring my own understanding of the musical idea. I will not apply a textbook mix down routine to your tracks. Instead, I will image how your tune was meant to sound like. A lot of times, this also gives me ideas on how your tune could sound differently and hence I will start suggesting things like effects, delays or additional layers to your drums. Most of the time, people thank me for this kind of input and they find it brings a new level of detail to the song. But sometimes they don't like it and then I make sure they get what they want.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: You tell me about your song. If you have something specific in mind I would like to hear a reference song. Then I will load all your tracks in my DAW and start my flow. Usually I'll figure out the 2-3 key elements of the song (for example beat, bass and vocals) and balance them first.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: Most of the work gets completed at my home setup, which is very minimalistic. I have a nice sounding room with high ceilings and some acoustic treatment done. For AD conversion I use a Fireface UCX. I have had this interface since 7,8 years and I love it. My main monitors at home are the all analog Dynaudio BM5A MKII. And that's it, for mixing, everything else happens "in the box". My "box" has recently been updated and is now a MacBook Pro 16" with a 2.3ghz i9 8-core processor, 32g RAM and 2TB of storage. I also own a lot of controllers for production like Ableton Push 2, Studiologic SL88, some analog synths, guitars, amps and so forth. For recordings I mostly use the R.A.u.M. 103 Studio in my hometown Darmstadt. There I can use all kinds of microphones, Tubetech compressors and an SSL console for high end results.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: My inspiration regularly changes and is always broad. I am not someone who listens to only one genre and detests everything else. If I don't immediately feel a new style of music, I have to investigate that style and find out why it moves people. At the moment I am inspired by artists like Koffee, Rosalia, Trettmann, RIN, Mura Masa, Brockhampton.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: The most common work I do is mixing and producing.
