I am known for my chameleonic capabilities; I'm involved in Latin, Urban music, Jazz, Bossa Nova, Mediterranean music and EDM projects. I'm a full time musician, more than 10 years of experience as a professional guitarist and bassist working with artist around the globe. I have a complete educational background (from jazz and modern to classical up to electronics, music production, mix and mastering)

Guillem is a soulful player and a true artist. The whole process from start to finish was very professional. Guillem was able to quickly provide several takes for me. it was hard to choose which to use because they were all so good. He customized his guitar sound to my song to blend in very naturally. Interview with Guillem Ubach

Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First of all understanding what you want. I'll listen to your demo and the reference track/s you send me. After that if you want me to play something straight I can do it directly, if instead you want me to put my vibe into it I'll do a short demo so you can give me some feedback and we'll work from there.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Which one to choose...just joking, one of he main skills that artists appreciate of me is my ability to play by ear, you don't have to put more time to write down the chord changes or the music sheet, I'm able to transcribe it all at the moment. And you'll be surprised for how many time I hear "mistakes" that were unnoticed.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A song is always filling an emotional gap. I'll put all my effort to understand what are you expressing with that song and I'll bring what's needed to enhance that idea with my instrument. Also, let me tell you there's a big mistake around musicians. Working with tones of artists I realised that there are some of them that just want to be in front of everything, be the loudest, the most technically skilled..they put their ego in front of everything, that's a big mistake. The music (so your song) is in front of everything, I'll make sure that I understand what your vision is for that song and make that happen, I'm also gonna be proactive for sure, if I think something's missing or will help in your direction I'll say it to you.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm in love with my studio, I've been at different spaces and I finally found the one, carefully acoustically treated. I'm kind of a geek with my gear, I'll leave everything in its own case. Every morning when I arrive at the studio I'll open my Neumann TLM 102 case and all my guitars cases. Same thing when I leave, time to sleep in a comfortable environment. I have my Apogee Element 24 attached to my iMac, ready to listen to the demos of the artists that I collaborate with and start working. I try to make it look cool and inspiring, keeping it minimalist.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired by musicians that love music. Love means respect, means curiosity, means playfulness, just a lot of things. I'm inspired by all the musicians that are pushing forward, that are searching for that sound that they have in mind, searching for that sensation you get when you find the note, the word, the rhythm..when you feel like "That's it! That's the one!"
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The first thing I do with all clients is to listen. I like to listen and hear about exactly what YOU are trying to get out of your project, and what you would like out of our collaboration.
