"An outstanding performance from an outstanding talent. He knocked it out of the park. What a voice!" - Ben Hill
Well, I've been fortunate enough to receive some pretty cool endorsements from the likes of Robbie Williams and Bruce Findlay, but at the end of the day, I just love making music that resonates with people on an emotional level. I started out by doing cover songs on YouTube, and eventually began releasing my own singles and collaborating with some seriously talented musicians like Sina Drums and Andrei Cerbu. But even when I'm not performing, I can't resist the call of the open Italian road.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Thomas Jakob
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My Heart Is, which is my latest single, was a great song to produce. I recorded every instrument except bass guitar, and I was proud to be able to send the tracks to world class mix engineer Matt Bishop.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My next couple of singles!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Matt Bishop is an excellent mix engineer! I fully recommend his work. I lately figured he has mixed music I grew up with.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog. There's just no question. There's nothing more beautiful than the warm, full sound of a real bass guitar, real Yamaha upright, or even a Moog. But that tends to be more of a purist / philosophical argument; I love using VSTs.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will be true on every project and 100% close to myself.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: As 100000s of others would say it's of course the creativity, but it's more than that, it's bringing a part of you you are on the inside to the professional field, which is something that nearly nobody can do or desires to do.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: People ask me if I can sing on their track. My answer is yes.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I wanna be famous.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Where do you want the vocals to kick in? Where do you want the vocals to end? If you want me to write lyics: what should the subject be?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't be too keen on having your production polished like a glowing shoe. It makes the song uninteresting. It needs personality.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Yamaha upright, acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, percussion kit, shaker egg
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It's been two years now (2021) and I'm just getting started: I've been getting more clients and more collabs over the past month and I'd like to continue on this trend.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Dreamy indie pop/rock.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Sigrid or Robbie Williams, their catchy music is incredible and it'd be amazing to work with them.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't be too perfect.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie/rock music, comprable to Arcade Fire, Keane, The National.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Recording vocals; coming up with melodies & lyrics on the spot.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try not to make any song sound generic. I try to add a particular twist to anything I do: tens of thousands of songs are uploaded to Spotify every hour so it's crucial to share your personality. My personality comes from a blue dream world.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I sit down, load a track into Logic Pro, listen 1 time and start recording right away. For the effect I like adding the right plugins very early on in the process. That's just how I roll.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Couple of synthesizers (Yamaha, M-Audio), real electronic Hammond, dynamic mics, condenser mics, big load of premium VST's, beautiful Yamaha upright piano. I produce everything in Logic Pro.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Arcade Fire, because they don't limit themselves technically. They add elements and personality to their songs. Elements that make their music less generic and polished.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Types of work? I mostly enjoy singing and producing for a wide variety of genres. I always add my little "tricks" to make a production particular.
