The most professional session musician you I could’ve asked for. I had an idea, he got it straight away and in less than 24 hours I was already mixing perfectly recorded tracks. I’ve worked with him twice and I couldn’t recommend him more, 10/10 in every single way!

Interview with HandPercussionTracks
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I pride myself on an extremely high quality recording system. I use an iMac 3.6GHz 8-core Intel Core i9. Neve and UA preamps, Maag EQ's and a gigantic selection of microphones that can handle anything percussion wise. Beyond that I use Mogami gold standard cabling, Apogee convertors and proper power conditioning. My instrument inventory is 700 + pieces currently. I also have a 5 TB Dropbox business account, which enables file retrieval at anytime for past and older session stems. My internet connection is an AT&T fiber connection at 1000 Mpbs. If you would like a complete microphone list please let me know. There is a partial one listed above in my recording services description.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Ive been working in the recoding field since 1992. Thats what I set out to do and here I am.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Ive been hired to play on more styles of music than I can list. Everything from DIY singer songwriter tracks to XBOX and Playstation games, film trailers, TV shows and more.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Concentration, professionalism, time management and follow through. Not to mention a well-developed workflow that has been honed and perfected.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do recording jobs from the simple to extreme. Anything from a simple shaker track to a fully orchestrated percussion track. I have online sessions credentials ranging from the D.I.Y. artist to Walt Disney Studios.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Give me as much info as you can. What do you want rhythmically? If you want a tambourine track, do you want a "jingly" sound or a dry sound. Do you have a specific pattern in mind? If they aren't sure I am perfectly comfortable trying out different ideas until the right vibe is found.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Simple when needed, aggressive when the times right. Play for the music.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: 100 % guarantee when you're happy my job is done.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: At times I will ask several questions, its a time saving method on my part. When people ask me "can you track a conga part in my choruses" ? I will try and focus in on the specifics. Quite often people are unsure, at that point I will offer several examples and let them pick what works best.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring over thirty years of recording and musical experience. I play strictly for the song/project. Beyond that I have an incredibly good understanding of proximity effect, SPLm headroom and acoustics which results in amazing sounding tracks for your song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Depends on the project. If someone wants a maraca track (for example) I typically ask a few questions. Do you want a mono or stereo track ? Do you want a mixture of natural room sound ? I don't have any one single process since I have to wear a lot of hats rhythmically.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Anyone who is successful, unique and honest.
