Working with Rapson was smooth from day one.
He has a sharp ear for textures and space, and he knows exactly how to make a track breathe.

The mix I received felt alive: warm, clean, and well-balanced across the board. His layering choices brought depth without overcrowding the sound.

He was quick, clear, and easy to work with.
Always open to feedback, but also confident in his ideas.

If you care about detail and vibe, Rapson delivers.
    Highly recommend working with him.

Interview with Rapson Espinosa

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I’m especially proud of my version of Chan Chan, recorded with handpan and ambient elements. It went viral on Instagram, resonating with thousands of people across cultures. This project blends Cuban heritage with a fresh, modern sound, and it represents my mission: to honor tradition while creating something new and meaningful.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I’m working on a Latin fusion album called ONCE, where I mix Cuban rhythms, pop, and spiritual textures. I’m also producing Lo-Fi Bossa tracks under the name Nsuï.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not yet – I’m new to the platform. But I’m looking forward to collaborating with other talented professionals here.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital for flexibility and speed, but I use analog-modeled gear (like UAD plugins) to bring warmth, depth, and character to every track.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to listen, care about your vision, and deliver work that sounds professional, emotional, and ready to move people.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love turning a simple idea into a powerful piece of music. Seeing how my work helps artists express their soul and connect with others is the most rewarding part.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Q: Can you make my song sound like a radio hit? A: Yes – if the performance and recording are solid, I’ll take it to the next level with a professional mix and master.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That mixing or mastering can fix a poorly recorded performance. Great results start with good recordings and clear artistic direction.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What’s your goal with this project? Do you have reference tracks? What emotions do you want the song to convey? What’s your deadline?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Make sure the provider understands your vision and listens to your needs. Chemistry and communication are just as important as technical skills.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Apollo Twin X Quad, Sphere LX Mic, a solar-powered laptop with Logic Pro, Shure SM7B, and a pair of Audio-Technica headphones.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I’ve been singing and producing for over 10 years. I studied music deeply in Cuba and have developed my craft between Sweden and Europe, working as a vocalist, composer, and audio engineer. My journey has blended tradition with technology.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Organic, soulful, and rhythm-driven. I mix Cuban and tropical sounds with a modern touch, creating something fresh and emotional.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with Camilo. His style blends modern pop with Latin roots and emotional storytelling – something I also strive for in my own work.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Less is more. Don’t overload the mix – give each instrument space to breathe so the emotion can shine through.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Latin pop, salsa, son cubano, chill/Lo-Fi, and spiritual ambient music. I enjoy working on music that moves both the body and the soul.

  34. A: Bringing emotion and clarity through vocals and mixing – I help songs feel alive and connect with the listener.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring emotional and expressive vocals, clean and spacious mixes, and a deep sense of rhythm rooted in Cuban and Latin music. I always aim to enhance the artist’s vision and elevate the feeling of the song.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I start by listening to the client’s references and vision. Then I work step by step, delivering drafts for feedback. I aim to communicate clearly, work efficiently, and deliver professional-quality results with a warm, organic sound.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work from a professional home studio using an Apollo Twin X Quad interface, Sphere LX microphone, Shure SM7B, and a full suite of Universal Audio plugins. I produce and mix in Logic Pro X, with acoustic treatment for accurate monitoring.
