Thank you. I'm glad that the sound became smooth and good music was made. Jay actively makes revisions to my revisions. He is also very kind and willing to work with him again! I hope you make a good choice like me.
Our clarinet duo has collaborated with Jay several times in the past few years; he's recorded both sound and video takes for us, which we've used for virtual performances and competition submissions. Justin knows his trade and is a pleasure to work with. He truly delivers a high quality product!
Justin basically taught me everything I know about music production and helped me immensely with my album. He is really good at hearing what a song needs both on a technical level and a creative level. I seriously could never have made this album without him. He also mastered it and made it sound much more balanced and cohesive.
Thank you, Justin. What a superb job you did.

Interview with Jay Maike
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't be afraid to ask for what you want. I'm here to help you and your project.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Juno 106, Laptop, Audio Interface, Mic, and a chair.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Cinematic synth-pop, dark wave, vaporwave.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Artists who want warm, vintage synth sounds with emotional chord progressions.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: It's literally all about the emotion. Everything else about gear and theory is just craft which lends itself to the emotion. Keep your finger on the emotional pulse of what you are doing - not just the technical.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on dark synth-pop music and film scores.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I can listen and tune into what YOU'RE trying to achieve while still preserving and bringing what makes me creativity unique.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a combination of classic, vintage sounds with my synthesizers and knowledge of chord + theory structures that allow me to create emotional passages with the perfect texture.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I typically create a rough draft, mockup with some initial ideas to run by the client. If that seems like the correct direction, I'll send back a final draft and offer a couple of revisions.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have several analog vintage Juno synthesizers, samplers, vintage emulation VST's and more to create the classic sounds you need!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired by film scores in Twin Peaks, The White Lotus, Studio Ghibli movies, and more.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I offer clients session for synthesizer parts for their band, as well as cinematic scoring for film. I have a background in music theory so I'm able to write more complex parts with emotional voice leading that can fit any situation.
