My name is Blake and I am the primary musician behind Cowboy Dinosaur, an indie/alt-rock band out of Portland, OR. I have a pro-level studio where I record all of my band's songs, and in my spare time I love playing guitar for other bands. I also started the effect pedal company Blakemore Effects, so I love creating noises with pedals.
I have been playing guitar in various bands for the past 15+ years. I spent my college years playing live music in Nashville for a wide array of original and cover bands. While my favorite type of music to play is rock (especially anything from the 90s), I gained plenty of experience and appreciation for country and pop music while in Nashville, and am open to trying anything new. I learn quickly, and take direction well. If given a reference for the sound someone is looking for, I am able to match my tone and style accordingly, or I am more than happy to play whatever I think best fits the song. I own a large number of guitars and amps, and I used to run an effects pedal company so I have plenty of gear available to try and match whatever type of sound you want to hear.
I get the most joy from serving the song, so while I am very comfortable playing solos when needed, I get just as much satisfaction from trying to get a cool rhythm locked in, or trying to create textures and soundscapes with my guitar. Some of my favorite guitar players are people like Graham Coxon from Blur who effortlessly go back and forth between wild fuzzed out sounds, and very chimey, clean chords depending on what the song calls for.
TL;DR = I love playing all varieties of music, and have the gear and the ability to try and create pretty much any sound you have in your head.

Was amazing! Super communicative, quick, and did a great job with a somewhat complicated rhythm guitar part. Gave us exactly what we were looking for. Would definitely use again!

Blake has a really cool band I had the honor to do a project for. One of my favorite projects so far. He’s really kind and knows what he wants but he also gave me a lot of freedom on the project, which I liked.
I was the lead/rhythm guitarist, and I was either the lead vocalist or backing vocalist in this production

I have a day job, so I can't always record during the work week, but I should be able to finish most projects within one full week. I will do one round of revisions for free, and $20 after that.
