Endorse VALENTE AudioWhat good can I say about Aldo and his son Alessandro that hasn't been said yet? A truly winning team! Aldo's great talent and vast experience as a musician, singer, author and arranger are harmoniously combined with Alessandro's talent and his creativity in music, singing, composition and sound engineering (he graduated in London with highest honours). I am proud to have made use of their professionalism for the making of some cd's of my choir (Anno Domini Gospel Choir) and I hope to continue to use them for many years... I recommend them both highly! Ad maiora!👍💝
I met Alessandro through a friend and contacted him to produce a single. He took my song and made something really interesting and amazing sounding. Would definitely recommend!
Not only a brilliant producer but also an amazing songwriting, AV production is the number one I will recommend to produce your track! Attentive, creative and professional, I worked with Alessandro valente for my track and I absolutely adored this experience! He knew how to make me feel comfortable with what I wanted but was also always here to give constructive advices and tips! Go for it!
I traveled from London to Turin and recorded my song with them. Amazing duo, giving a lot of though and love to the production. I can definitely recommend AV Productions for anyone looking for a fair priced producer!
Interview with VALENTE Audio
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: We recently produced, mixed and master the album "The singer in the band" by Marco Bonino, I am really proud of the result because the artist didn't have budget for real drums, strings, keys, etc. He even decided to record vocals on his own (clipped vocals) but I managed to make it sound as a real big band from the 70s playing together, tricking the ears of seasoned professionists.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: We just closed an original soundtrack for a Netflix Italy series that's coming soon, can't say more for now. We are now in the middle of the production of the new album by Alessandro Valente while we keep working on third artists songs!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Hybrid, because the randomness and the electric circuits of just one analogue gear are something difficult to replicate in the digital domain with just one plugin, you need several to obtain a similar result. On the other hand, digital tools are extremely precise to sculpt the sound to the smallest detail.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How loud should I send you the audio files? my answer, between -12dB and -6dB should be safe How loud should I record my vocals and guitars? again, -12dB!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What song do you wish you had written? Why? Do you prefer a minimalistic arrangement or a more complex/orchestral one? Which artist/band would you go on tour with? What's the best sounding song you know and why you like it?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Going for the most famous provider doesn't mean you will get the best job possible! Most of the time they don't spend enough time on the project and don't take care of all the details and requests the artist may have. I speak after working with artists who spent too much money for products they didn't like and came to me in the end to fix it.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: acoustic guitar, laptop with solar panel charger, microphone, midi keyboard, headphones.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: We are a team of two. Aldo is in the international music industry since the late 70s, he worked as music composer and songwriter for various TV and radio shows. he produced songs for international Djs like Gigi D'Agostino, performed as keyboardist with many famous italian bands, performing in the most prestigious venues in Italy, e.g Arena di Verona. He wrote more than 200 songs for kids Tv shows. He's very eclectic as a writer and producer. Alessandro, his son, is working as ghost writer since 2014, graduated with a first in the most acclaimed music university of Europe, works as music producer, mix and mastering engineer and even teaches music in elementary schools. He is an artist himself, working on his own music in parallel with the studio jobs. He plays acoustic guitar and bass for different bands on stage and as a session player in studio. He plays acoustic guitar using alternative tunings and percussive fingerstyle technique. He spent the last five years nerding on mixing and mastering.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: mastering starts with mixing, mixing starts in the production, production starts in the writing process. You can't always fix it later and if you could, it will be a compromise. second: Don't follow the meters, listen with your ears!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Everything, and I mean it. We worked for TVs, Radios, Netflix, Gospel choirs, Rock bands, Beat bands, Indie Pop, Folk and Irish artists, Dream Pop, Classic Pop, Neo Soul and Funk, Progressive and Fusion, Italo dance and EDM in general.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Creating a world of sounds the artists like, understanding their vision from their not-always-so-clear suggestions.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A great sound aesthetic and clever, juicy arrangements, unique lyrics and catchy melodies.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We work with the top tools on the market. Latest Apple computers, Top of the line Universal Audio interface, Neumann microphones, Gibson Les Paul Standard, Gibson Songwriter J-45 (acoustic), Fender Stratocaster, Fender Precision Bass, Hofner H500/1 Violin Bass, Montoya vintage Classical guitar. We mix and master with two pair of monitors: Vintage Yamaha NS10 and Focal alpha evo 80.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
