Endorse Ask Kaereby / Audio ExpertiseAsk is a great engineer and co-producer to have in the studio. He can be a very efficient and precise in the technical work as well as having the sensitivity and vision to be a production partner.
He know him also as very trustful live technician, he shows high professionalism and sense for the organic momentum in music.Ask did the mastering for two of my tracks in the experimental genre. I was very happy for the result and the collaboration.
Interview with Ask Kaereby / Audio Expertise
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! The immediacy of analogue can make for a very efficient working process, whereas the detailed precision of digital enable incredible 'tricks' to be performed.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That they will be paying for expertise, not excess.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: NS-10M Studio monitors, Beyerdynamic m160 ribbon mics, AKG D224E microphone, Audio Design & Recording Compex, Klark Teknik DN780 Reverb.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Well, I've been interested in recording for as long as I can remember! Professionally, I've been working with sound since 2003, in 2007 I earned my BA in sound engineering and in 2012 I completed my Master's degree in contemporary music production, the first in Denmark.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: The ones that have a strong vision, and wish to maintain their integrity and independence.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: In 2014 I recorded, produced and mixed the album "Flytta Hemifrån" with Swedish jazz vocalist Mimi Terris and her band of very competent musicians. I was very satisfied with the way it came out, having a somewhat "retro" vibe without sounding dated, and in 2015 it was awarded “Music Production of the Year” by Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen.
