Ive been solely working freelance as a producer/mix engineer and recording engineer in the UK for the last 9 years.
I am also a senior lecturer of music production at an established contemporary music university in Brighton

A: They usually ask, what is my favourite kind of artist to work with? I just like working with people who are excited about what they are making.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: There’s no one correct way to work.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What radio station do you see this track on? What playlist on Spotify would you want it to feature on?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Find someone who is interested in the same music as you!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A generator/solar battery, laptop, starlink router, headphones/speakers. There’s no point in bringing any other pieces of gear, if you don’t have this essential stuff.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been producing music for other artists for 10 years now and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is mostly about dynamics, making sure that the transitions in songs work the way their intended to.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Bon Iver, Justin vernon is such a talented and creative songwriter and producer that has always inspired me.

A: References, references, references
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I like working in a range of different genres, I do like style of music that have some more creativity, especially if there is some mixtures of instruments that aren’t necessarily typical.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is being entirely client focussed and separating myself from the work to make sure the client gets what they want first.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I have an extensive range of skills that can be used to get artists tracks to sound like they could fit on a playlist with their favourite artist.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by importing all of the stems and getting a feel for the tracks, whilst also listening to lots of the references that the artist provides. This helps me really get what the client wants straight away.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is a hybrid setup, I utilise hardware analog equipment that doesn’t exist in the digital realm, such as SSL summing, classic 90s and 00s vocal processors and real spring reverbs, and tape delays. In the box however I have all of the best plugins and software needed to elevate home recorded audio to a professional level.

A: A big inspiration at the moment is jack antonoff’s work on The 1975 and Taylor Swift.
