My name is Dave Ormsby, I am a UK based session drummer and engineer who has been playing both live and in the studio for the past 15 years. In that time I have built up a client list that includes multiple Grammy winning producers and artists around the world including Louis Berry, The BBC Philarmonic, Tom Ashbrook, Natalie McCool, Mark McGann, producers Steve Fitzmaurice, Adrian Bushby & Steve Levine and recorded for clients such as Sony, the BBC, Channel 4, Eurovision and many others.
I record out of my home studio, which has been professionally constructed and treated both inside and out to help provide the best recording environment possible. The studio features Neve, API & SSL style preamps, Universal Audio interfaces and software as well as a large collection of high end, industry standard mics and a wide range of vintage and modern drum kits/cymbals so there is plenty to choose from for your project. I can also provide electronic drums/sounds for tracks from authentic Roland equipment.
I regard myself very much as a song drummer and my main focus is always to find a drum part that works for the track above all else.
Myself and my studio have great support from various companies, including Remo Drumheads & Percussion, Cosmic Ears, Roland Electronics, Big Fat Snare Drum, Porter & Davies Tactile Monitoring.
