Trusted by 90+ clients for basslines with feel, character, and the right musical instinct. Bass is more than just low-end - it’s the heartbeat of your track, and my goal is to make it feel alive.
Hi, I’m Ben - a session bassist, producer and composer from Germany.
From deep pocket grooves to raw, human-feel basslines inspired by Dilla, I shape the low-end to fit your artistic vision and serve the song.
Over the years, I’ve recorded bass for beat producers, bands, hip-hop artists, and labels across a wide range of styles. My background is in jazz, but my approach is always about feel, tone, movement, and finding the part that gives a track warmth, character, and the right kind of energy.
I’m also active as a producer and artist myself, including different beat producer projects, where my music has reached over 60 million streams on Spotify. That experience taught me a lot about arrangement, sound, and what makes a track connect with listeners.
Every project includes a bonus jam take - a small library of extra fills, slides, transitions, and unexpected ideas to give your track more depth and flexibility, alongside the main take.
Clients often come to me because they want someone who listens closely, works fast, communicates clearly, and delivers parts that are easy to use in the production process.
If you already know exactly what you want, great. If not, I’m happy to help shape the part.
Feel free to send me your track, references, or even just a rough idea.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

check_circleVerifiedBEN delivered again on our second track with him! He brought SO much groove and life to it in his own signature fashion. We had so many great riffs to choose from, yet his tracks were so well organized upon delivery that it was pure joy to consider all the possibilities. OUR #1 go-to bass player and arranger on SoundBetter...or anywhere on planet Earth actually!!
check_circleVerifiedbensnburner is an incredible artist and musician!!
The interpretation he provided for our original song...we could not have dreamed up a more ideal collaborator. Seriously.
Also, he was kind, easygoing and very intuitive with his approach. We cannot wait to work with him again, and already have plans to share our next song in need of BASS GENIUS!!
check_circleVerifiedPerfect as usual

check_circleVerifiedBensnburner was absolutely outstanding. I sent him my track and within a few days he came back with a few beautifully crafted bass lines. He gave me a few varying options and I was able to perfectly match them with my vision for the song. Highly recommend him and will definitely use him again in the future. Such a tremendous blessing...
check_circleVerifiedBen completely understood what I was looking for in my song. I had produced everything but was missing bass. He nailed the essence I was going for without doing too much. He has that cool factor in his playing. He also gives you so much content to work with in his extra takes! I'm coming back to him.
check_circleVerifiedWorked with Ben for years now. Always kills every single time on bass or guitar. Great playing, great experimentation and improvisation, great tone and recording quality. check_circleVerifiedAn incredibly talented musician with a very quick turnaround, though he does not sacrifice quality. Ben makes sure to give you everything you might want, and then some. His attention to creative detail is astounding and I cannot wait to work with him again for all my bass track needs.
check_circleVerifiedBen,
Played some heated bass on my track. He asked for a couple of revisions and the rest is history. Astounding turn around time. There will be no worries letting him handle the bass on your music. Ben's an A+ in my book.

Interview with bensnburner
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Tyler, The Creator - because his music has personality, risk, and a strong emotional world, and I really connect with artists who think in sound as much as in songs.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Artists like D’Angelo, J Dilla, Miles Davis, Flying Lotus, and Vangelis inspire me a lot - people who combine feel, character, and a strong sonic identity.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I’m especially proud of my work under the beat producer alias Flamingo Zamperoni, where the music has reached over 60 million streams on Spotify. That project taught me a lot about arrangement, feel, tone, and what makes a track connect with listeners. My role was producer, composer, bassist as well.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment I’m working on a mix of session bass recordings, production work, and my own artist projects.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I always try to deliver bass that truly serves the song - with clear communication, musical sensitivity, and a fast, reliable workflow.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love finding the part that suddenly makes a track feel complete. Sometimes it’s subtle, sometimes it changes the whole energy of the song.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it’s just about playing notes. Good session bass is really about feel, timing, tone, and making the right musical decisions for the song.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Usually turnaround time, file formats, and BPM, but also about emotions and background.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who serves the song, not just the instrument. Great session work is often more about taste, feel, and decision-making than complexity.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A Fender Bass VI, Chase Bliss Blooper, an OP-1, an Empress ZOIA, and an Ampeg rig.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started playing bass at 15, studied jazz and popular music in Freiburg, and was offered a Berklee scholarship. Over time I moved deeper into session work, production, and my own artist projects. I’ve now been recording, touring, and shaping music for over two decades.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Song-first, in the pocket, and emotionally driven. I care a lot about groove, tone, and finding the part that gives a track depth without overplaying. Also always open for out-of-the-box adventures.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don’t underestimate the first take. Even if it’s not the final version, it often contains the feel and instinct that later takes can lose.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly hip-hop, neo-soul, funk, lofi, indie, and other groove-based productions - plus my stoner-doom band "bunsenburner"
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Finding bass parts that feel musical, supportive, and immediately right for the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually import the track, listen closely, and record an instinctive first pass early on. Then I refine from there and usually send a main take, an alternate version, with bonus ideas like fills or transitions.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My setup is built around getting a musical, reliable recording quickly. I can provide clean, organized files and adapt the setup depending on the project, including access to additional instruments and gear when needed.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most often I record electric bass for hip-hop, neo-soul, funk, indie, and other modern productions - usually for artists and producers who want a bass part with groove, feel, and usable options.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: doesn’t matter. flylo recorded drums with an iphone and it worked. always depends on the project. i can provide both ways of course, if some specific characteristics are demanded.
