Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
Q: What do you like most about your job?
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital... because I'm still saving to buy analogue equipment.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Everything being perfect... it's the imperfections that give a track it's unique character.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Any reference songs helps me understand where you are coming from, and from there we can create your own unique style.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I studied music production and music technology since 16 and after graduating Uni in 2013 at 22, I have been growing my network as a freelance producer.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I've started out working with a lot of Scandi artists so quirky pop is my bread and butter, which uses a lot of sound textures
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I mainly work on Pop, Dance and hip hop tracks but have done orchestral music for sync as well as spoken word.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My versatility with producing different genres is my strongest skill.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My job is to heighten emotionally and sonically any idea I get given.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It starts with understanding the artists vision and sound they are searching for. I will go away and create a rough vision and then we build on that idea until both parties are happy.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I like to keep it simple yet effective. I use UAD equipment and plugins, along with WAVES, FabFilter and other industry used plugins.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Ludwig Göransson known for his work with Childish Gambino and composer for Black Panther. The mans versatility to produce pop/soul to composing for full feature films inspires me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mainly take an artists idea and create a production with their vision. I also mix and master for artists also.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Bon Iver... The man ooozes heart and soul in his music and would want to try heighten that further.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more... the sign of a really good song is not how many tracks are used but the new elements that are introduced throughout the track.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't hold back with what you do and don't like. You're the mastermind behind it so
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My electric guitar, a copy of Logic Pro, a Macbook, a Sure SM7-B, and my UAD Apllo Twin. That's enough to make any great song.
