Interview with Ray Vegas

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is located in Berlin, Germany, and is designed around a modern workflow. A very clean, DAW oriented setup without any outboard other than a preamp and a great vocal microphone.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired by artists that manage to bridge genres and crowds with their music, especially when they have proven they can re-invent themselves or their sound as styles change. In the EDM Szene this would most prominently be David Guetta, but also Gabry Ponte (formerly involved with Eifel 65s mega smash "Blue (Da Ba Dee)". I'm also very inspired by Alok for his imprint on Brazilian Bass.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am a professional songwriter and producer. I'll switch back and forth between these rolls depending on what the session calls for or the artists I work with. Most of the time I write songs for pitch, so I'll produce the track and vocals to make it sound fitting for DJs or to give it radio appeal.
