It was a really satisfying work, my music mixed by Maja is like a really neat interior and all the instruments are well arranged.
Maja thought about it together to find the sound I wanted and the communication was very active. For me, working with him was an inspirational time.
In addition to the technical side, I think the emotional side is quite important

A: Recently, I am producing music for Pop Artists, commercials and my own EP.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would say Pop, K-Pop, though it is difficult to define the style due to I am inspired by various artists.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Though I produce a variety of music, usually work in Pop, Soft-Pop, K-Pop, and Electro-Pop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I am strong at producing, mixing from others' perspectives, and what clients' asked for, especially in Pop, Soft Pop, K-Pop and Electro-Pop.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use Logic Pro X or Ableton for producing, and Logic Pro X for Mixing. I run a studio in Taipei, Taiwan, the studio is well-built and acoustically treated, where I record, produce and mix all of my projects.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Working with different clients has been a joy to me, the concept and story behind the song is always different, which I am super fascinated by it.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I was inspired by a lot of artists in Pop, Indie-Pop and Rock. From Jonas Brothers, Dua Lipa, BTS, Coldplay, and Onerepublic to modern Bands and Artists.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: As a music producer, it is not only important of your production skill but also has to have a vision or could see the potential of the song. As a mix engineer, it is essential to know what your clients taste and what he/she is looking for in this project.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: When it comes to mixing, a lot of customers will ask about should they bypass the plugins or not. My answer is always, it depends! 1. Deactivate all of them except the ones that are important for songwriting and sound design. 2. A certain type of saturation or a special delay are effects that you should leave on. 3. Filter sweeps are also something you should keep. 4. EQs and compressors that you use for creating your own rough mix should be turned off. 5. If you use send-effects (like e.g. a reverb that returns in parallel to the source on another track), please also export them and send them to me.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think the boundaries between, songwriting, producing, and mixing is getting more and more blurred, so sometimes we will need a bit of time discussing and checking the files are corrected and ready to bring it to the next stage.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more and trust your gut.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I produce mostly for Pop, Indie-Pop Artists, Singer-Songwriters, etc.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with anyone to who I can contribute my taste, creative ideas.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have a reference track that could more or less represent what's in your mind?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Feel free to discuss with me, the more we talk about it, the images will become more clear and precise.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I will listen carefully to clients' references track and add my own taste/sound into the production appropriately(If needed).
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been producing and mixing for several singer-songwriters and companies around the world since 2012.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, headphone, Audio Interface, Midi Keyboard, and a pair of speakers. I think this is the way how most people produce music nowadays.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: 70% Digital and 30% analog. I do believe analog gears have their unique sound character, but in nowadays, the high-quality digital world has conquered us.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I spend a lot of time listening to and evaluate to my client's voice. It can be from just a small idea and expand into a song production. I make feedback back on the way, to make sure I and my clients are in the right direction.
