"Get ready to elevate your music to the next level with the expertise of an established Producer, Mix and Mastering engineer residing in Monument, Colorado."
I possess extensive experience working across a wide range of genres within the music industry, with a particular focus on rock, pop, and country music. My primary area of expertise lies in mixing and mastering, although I occasionally undertake production and engineering projects. Additionally, I am actively involved in post-audio work, collaborating with independent film producers in the area.
My passion lies in collaborating with artists to create high-quality, exceptional products. Like any business owner, I strive to produce the best possible outcome for my clients. I firmly believe that in today's music industry, there is a significant amount of homogeneity in the sound of various tracks. Therefore, as a producer and mixer, my aim is to ensure that the artist's unique sound is both represented and reproduced while also providing a distinctive twist that leaves the listener wanting more.

It should be illegal to be this good. Chris is obsessed with detail in the best way possible. What initially sold me was the depth and space of his mixes. Unbelievable clarity. He's like a mad scientist, providing tweaks and enhancements like any great partner would. A pleasure to have him mix this record. And delivered well ahead of schedule.

Chris is a professional. He worked well with us to incorporate our feedback and come up with a product we were ultimately satisfied with. Since we did a mastering job with him, I would recommend him to essentially anyone who is seeking a mastering engineer.

This man knows what he is doing!
What a gift it was to work with Chris! Not only is he extremely professional and a delight to work with, he goes above and beyond. He took my song to a place I dreamed of but couldn't properly articulate. You can trust your music in his hands. Chris cares about giving you the very best because he is truly passionate about and loves what he does!
Working with Chris has been awesome! Our band was in a tough situation with our album when we found him and he has been incredibly accommodating and professional. The mix quality, timeliness, and communication has all been great. It's obvious he has a passion for this and we are grateful to have found him.
Chris is an absolute workhorse. The mixing and mastering job that he provided for my tune "Cages", it gave it a new life. Amazing depth and separation between the instruments. I'd recommend his work to any band looking for someone whose attention to detail is through the roof and who isn't happy until the artist is happy. Great stuff.
We had a great time recording and mixing our album with Chris! He has a great ear for making songs sound full and complete. He always keeps an eye out for what other great engineers are doing in the industry and implements those techniques into his own style.
Chris did a great job mixing for us, you can tell he loves what he does and has taken the time to learn the right way of doing things with no shortcuts. It would be very difficult to stump this dude!
Chris Andrews has an amazing set of ears and knows his stuff. From top of the line gear, to the most up to date recording and mixing techniques, Chris is always striving to better himself and takes pride in pumping out professional sounding tracks. Above all, a super-cool guy to work with!
Chris is great to work with. Super professional and is always striving to ensure that his clients are truly satisfied. It was a pleasure to have Chris master the debut Disgrace The Traitor EP. I look forward to working with him again in the future.
Chris is great. As a mastering engineer it's great to get mixes that are solid and workable. I've heard nothing but good things from the artists coming out his studio.
Highly recommend. The great thing about Chris is that he consistently delivers well crafted mixes. You can tell that he cares about quality, and leaves no detail unattended. He is continually refining his craft, and developing new ways to get fresh sounds. He's simply a nice guy, and wonderful to work with.
Monument Sound is Amazing, and Chris is simply the best, thorough and detailed and a great guy. His knowledge and expertise are at the top of his field. The Studio is hands down the best we have ever encountered. Buck25 will not go anywhere else ever. Monument Sound is hands down the best of the best. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Chris has his heart in what he is doing. Which is more than can be said for many in this business. It's passion not a paycheck. A quick listen to his work speaks for itself. His work is all the recommendation he needs.
Chris is a great producer/mixer/engineer , has a great ear, great gear, rocking studio and a great attitude to go with all that. All those things combined will make your session and outcome of your song and album totally killer! Hire him!
Whatever you need Chris can provide and has the ears to back it up. I've known and worked with Chris for going on 10 years. He always pulls the best performance out of me. He not only knows how to use the racks and stacks of great gear he has, but also brings an "out of the box" attitude to make the magic happen.
Highly Recommended!!
Interview with Chris Andrews
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 20 years and going strong
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Man there are too many to really list.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work in a Pro Tools Ultimate/Hybrid SSL environment. I use a SSL Sigma for summing along with analog equipment from API, Neve, Chandler and many other pieces. For conversion I use Lynx and BURL. It's a great setup that allows me to be in the best of both worlds with analog and digital components.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I generally work with Rock/Country and singer-songwriter types. Typically pop songs and more edgier hard rock. I really work with all genres of music. Try to branch out - keeps you creative in the production and mix phase.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am mixing a lot and mastering tracks for clients all over the world. Great stuff!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! I use a very hybrid setup that allows decisions to be made on both sides of the tracks. The analog side allows me to get some additional flavor that I feel the digital plugins lack at times. I really enjoy making the material have a sound and fell my setup does this well for my clients.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to make sure they are happy. My name is on the material as well and I want to deliver the best product I possibly can to all of my clients.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What do I do when I mix. what plugins, etc. My response is I use the pieces required to make the music go in the right direction. Its a puzzle and my job is to complete it the best way possible.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Many do not understand how much effort goes into mixing. When they see the final product usually they understand the cost and time that goes behind making things sound great. I love my job!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Laid back vibe, but very professional and secretly full of energy.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Making Music sound the best it can.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are your end goals. What inspired you?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure you are not just listening to the material provided. We have a lot to offer and sometimes we cannot put new stuff up to hear. Reach out to us, ask questions and make sure we understand your requirements. Also understand that it takes time to make your music sound good. This is not a canned process. Ask questions
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Hmmmmm tough one.... 1. Chandler TG1 2. BAE 1023 3. API 7600 4. My Computer 5. U87 Mic
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Simplicity sometimes wins when you are over-thinking a song.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock /Singer-Songwriters and Country
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening to the clients needs and making it happen
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I treat mixing a song like a roller coaster. The song needs to continue the motion that made the artist inspired and transfer that to the listener. My job is to keep the listener interested in the song through to the end. PERIOD!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Get the mix, figure out what and where the artist was trying to go with the material and try to make it there.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Right now I think that country artists and mixers have it down to a science. The panning is amazing and depth of the music is fantastic. I shoot for that goal on every mix now.
