Established lounge , Chill & world fusion artist producer with millions of Cds sold in the genre, looking to help younger artist to develop their style & sound
I have been producing music for the lounge scene for over 20 years now as well as for films and TV. Worked with endless list of labels around the world including Buddha Bar, Cafe del mar , Sony , Universal , EMI, Ministry of sound. I have a studio in the middle of the Catalunyan mountains , 30 min from Barcelona . I produce, mix and also can play lead guitars (that´s what I do as an artist on my own releases).

Interview with Christophe Goze
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I was once asked to write a 20 min peace of music for the closing ceremony of an international UNESCO event in Azerbaijan . My challenge was to write a music that would be a total cultural mix up featuring traditional instruments from as many countries as I could. I manage to use 42 world instruments and vocals from around the world. I dont think anybody ever did such a thing. The track was mixed by Jean Michel Jarre recording engineer. The ceremony was a huge success and I got congratulated from UNESCO people
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My own releases and various TV projects
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Come on ... that still used to be an issue 10 years ago maybe but today everything is better made in the box. Having said that , everything I record goes thru a path of analog gear such as old Neve pre amps , EQs or valve compression
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I dont work for money. I'm not on this platform for that and I have other sources for that. I just want to share a nice journey with you , help you find your own way and help you express your inner emotion
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The spiritual process it takes to transform an inside emotion into an external energy transmitted thru sound and energy
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: They usually want to make sure I will bring my style into their world. I answer that I would not know how to do it differently.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: They actually never know how to label it :) It goes from chill out to world fusion , ethno beats, lounge and even Jazz
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: have you heard my sound : Are you sure I'm the guy to help you ? I have many ideas , are you prepare to try to look at your music from another angle if necessary ? Why are you making music ? if the answer is to be famous or to make money I walk away :)
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to his sound . pay attention to details and make sure his music makes you feel good
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A nylon guitar, a macbook pro, an ipad, a hard drive full of sounds, a small master keyboards With that exact same set up I have written and produced many successful tracks while traveling the world
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: professional since 1990. First signed to Virgin Japan , Then Nippon Columbia , Then to UKNo1 lounge label Bar De Lune, cafe del Mar Buddha Bar , many projects with Universal , Sony Middle East, and various Europe , USA and Australian labels. Then moved to TV music making music for adverts such as Shiseido, McDonald, Ikea, Axe , National Geographic and BBC documentaries and got nominated for best TV advert music in the UK
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Since I created it and I got known for it I would say , Original :)
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Peter Gabriel and Nitin Sawhney
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Trust your ears
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Lounge, smooth jazz, down tempo and anything groovy
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Melody and catchy riffs and my guitar solos and lines
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My style :) Actually I became known in the lounge scene for that sound. I love jazzy harmonies, deep sound with strong bass and hifi definition. I love mixing world influences with lounge jazz or pop and even classical Im always looking for that touch that nobody else will think off :)
