I found my way into the recording industry in London in the early to mid 1990s. I am in possibly the last generation to cut their teeth on 2" tape. I was lucky enough to learn on the job assisting some fantastic producers and engineers. I have a strong musical skill set and have spent time on both sides of the glass.
My Studio is primarily designed for the creation of music, meaning that I have a (nice) drum kit always set and mic ed up in the live room, and a guitar amp room tie lined into the control room with a nice amp selection always ready to go. I also have a great sample library and some choice soft synths.
I believe in capturing big warm tones so I have a valve and ribbon mics as well as valve and transformer based preamps. When mixing I use analogue summing as I feel that the separation and detail is far superior to ITB. I do like the recall of DAW mixes though, so that is why I use a Summing unit rather than a mixing desk. I have a decent set of plug ins including UAD,Sonnox,Abbey Road,Lexicon and more. I am also a multi instrumental session player (drums, bass, gtr) and a versatile programer
