Lemar Jaily

Beatmaker and Songwriter.

Lemar Jaily on SoundBetter

I graduated at the The music school at Luleå University of Technology with a Higher Education Diploma Programme as recording/performing artist. My personal biggest accomplishment is that one of my first singles I ever made got listed in the Swedish Radio P4 for a month which I produced, wrote, mixed and mastered by myself.

My specialty lies in Beat-making and Songwriting which was my major subjects in my University. I can produce and write all kinds of styles in between the genres of Afrobeat, Tropical/Dancehall, Hip-Hop, Trap, EDM, R&B/Soul, Pop.

During my time in University I also learned a lot when it came to Mixing and Mastering which is why I also offer those services to a price slightly lower than competition. I'm a very skillful mixer and quite a good masterer, you can listen to my songs here on Soundbetter to decide for yourself. The styles that I mix and master are the same as I mentioned above.

This means that if you hire the All-Inclusive package from me, I will be able to help you put together an entire song 0-100%.

This is how I work when you've hired me for the job:

- Agreement. Firstly we have a conversation about what it is that you want out of this deal and what I want then we negotiate the terms and come to an agreement.

- Song. Depending on what you've hired me for, I will try and send a draft to you not long after our negotiation so that we can see results developing faster together.

- Completion. We keep working with the draft, developing, improving and coming to a final result where we both feel satisfied with what we've accomplished.

- Payment. Once we have our final result you send me the final payment that we've agreed upon.

Interview with Lemar Jaily

  1. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  2. A: Beat-making and song-writing. It's still amazing to me that you can create something out of thin air. It begins as nothing maybe just a couple of small ideas and then it's built into this full amazing sounding project.

  3. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  4. A: "It's easy, just put on some effects, shouldn't take too long" are common misconceptions that I've stumbled upon. Creating a project takes time, we'll need to agree upon a timeframe that fits our schedule and reach a common ground. Once that is settled, there is a lot of arranging, tweaking and fixing to be done. This process can take a while as life is unpredictable, but ultimately we'll decide on a deadline when the project starts to make sense thenceforth the deadline it is. I strongly recommend to come in creating your project with humbleness and patience. You want the best song you could possibly have and I want to create that for you. Rome wasn't built in a day.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I have been making music on and off for almost ten years, it became more serious during my years at the university. I learned a lot from that time so much so that I now can give back to the community and help other aspiring musicians, artists and songwriters. I love music and want nothing more than for your project and you to be the best that you can be.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Less is more, work thorough and slow.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I can produce and write all kinds of styles in between the genres of Afrobeat, Tropical/Dancehall, Hip-Hop, Trap, EDM, R&B/Soul, Pop.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: My strongest skills are beat-making and song-writing just as mentioned above.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: We'll start by having a conversation about what is that you want to create on your preferred line of communication. From there we decide a given timeframe that fits our schedule. Not long after I'll start creating a draft and send it to you to make sure that we're on the same track. From that moment on we'll keep working on your song, producing, recording and writing, the kind of job that you've hired me to do. We keep working on your track, developing, improving, rearranging until we reach a final result and we're both satisfied with the outcome.

  15. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  16. A: I want our agreement to benefit us both, I will work until we're both satisfied and come to a final result.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: You need to have a clear idea about what it is that you want. You also need to be ready to put in the work necessary in the given timeframe you've decided. The investment you've made is non-refundable, because I'll have already invested time and effort into your project. Let's make sure that your investment then is worthwhile.
