Full-time Swedish-based songwriter with roots deep in the swedish songwriting-style. Worked with several artists/bands including writing songs for the french award-winning musical Dracula L'amour plus fort que la mort (Universal) and Swedish artist Elin Bell (Warner Music Sweden).
For me, harmony and melody is something precious and needs to be heartfelt. I like to believe I can deliver just that.
I have 15+ years of experience of writing music during which time I've been working/collaborating with several artists/bands including Eskemo (Mercery) and Jena Lee (Universal). Started writing mainly in the pop-genre but later on grew fond of folk and acoustic music.
I've also been working as a professional guitarist for many years.

Really pleased with the track that Mindsong has produced. Henrik has an unique but contemporary sound, and believe he really enjoyed working on the project. His communications were clear and timely, and (as an amateur songwriter), I felt fully supported throughout the process. Thanks Henrik!

Mindsong is a fantastic musician/singer. He did a soulful topline and backing vocals for my song. It was a complicated one to do and he worked it out great. I already think about working again together. Thanks very much! I would totally recommend him for your projects.

Working with Mindsong was great. He's super professional, knows what he's looking for, and very clear in his communication. The song he sent me to mix was great. Very well produced and written. Looking forward to working with him again in the future!

It was a pleasure working with Hank! He's super talented and his music is not like what you listen to every day. you can tell he puts a lot of time and is dedicated to his craft. Really looking forward to hearing more from him :).
Mindsong - True, authentic and a phenomenal songwriter. I've worked with Mindsong on three projects the last year and he deliver good stuff. We've been both co-writing and co-producing. He is easy to work with and is a great vocalist and guitar player and when it comes to music arrangements there is nothing more to ask, he just got it.
I have worked with Henrik Johansson (aka Mindsong) on numerous projects over the years. He always deliver high-class melodies and excellent productions. Mixing and mastering his projects is a pleasure!
Interview with Mindsong
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I wrote a song that was used in a french musical called Dracula L'amour plus fort que la mort that was put up in Paris for some years ago. To sit in the audience and watch the coreography of 50 people on stage was an amazing experience!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Just finished a project here where the client asked for a full production of an idea he had for the swedish Melodifestivalen (like the swedish version of Eurovision song contest). I did the arrangement, instrumentation, production and vocals for this project.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Markus Nordlund @ Dromedar studio for mixing/master. He is a genious!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What is there not to like about music!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: My main focus is to find out how the song sounds in your head.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Wrote my first song together with my sister when I was 10 years old. Performed it in church :) Since then, music has always been the biggest part of my life. Spent several years freelancing as a guitarist, combining this with writing songs for different publishing- companies. Right now, I'm aiming at working with my company (Mindsong) full-time.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Growing up, I loved everything from the swedish hit-factory Cheiron with Max Martin, Dennis Pop etc. I was fascinated by their ability to write hit-songs still hanging on to the melancholy of the traditional swedish songwriting tradition. As I got older, I found my passion for acoustic instruments and since then, I prefer productions with acoustic instruments. But I think I've been able to keep the tonal language of the swedish songwriting tradition.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Chris Cornell would have been my dream to work with... He had so much creativity inside and so much more to give in his heartfelt vocals.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Keep instrumentation down to a minimum, and make sure every instrument have its role.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Depends on what you bring to the table, but I like to think that my talent for melodies and harmonies can really be the fundament of the song and something to build on. And again, I can't do things half-hearted.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: With many years in the business, it's clear to me that one project is different from another. I like to keep an open dialogue about how to approach a project and can easily adapt my work process in order to keep everyone happy.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I mainly work within the pop-genre. My own project is within the folk-genre.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: You will hear I put my heart into every little detail.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: For vocals, I use a Sure SM7b with a cloudlifter and Audient 4 as preamp. For guitar I normally use a Fender Telecaster and Guitar rig 5. DAW Cubase 10
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Chris cornell was one of the greatest singer/songwriters on Earth. His record "Euphoria Morning" is absolutely amazing! Nik Kershaw is a fantastic songwriter!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My main focus is on songwriting, but often end up singing and playing guitar on those projects as well.
