My two favorite ways of working:
a) you have an idea how your track should sound like?? For example as crispy and loud as your favorite track from the recent top 50? Or as indie and chilled as some Coldplay tracks? I'll analyze your guide track and will find a prefect compromise between your sound and the guide you sent over.
b) I'll tune your track with my over 20 years of experience in mastering, mixing and producing to clean up your master and make it sound up to date without losing the spirit you gave your song.
Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

Third time working with Rudi, and at this point I’m probably only sticking with him! He knows exactly what sound I need out of the masters, and is always willing to go the extra mile. The results are impeccable, whatever magic he inserts gives the track an extra smoothness and warmth that is almost indescribable but I always seek after it now.

Interview with Rudi Dittmann|Ruhrtone Studios
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Calvin Harris - Giant (Robin Schulz Remix): I'm a huge Calvin Harris Fan and I had so much fun working on the Robin Schulz Remix as Mastering Engineer. Also, the "Alle Farben" Album "Sticker On my Suitcase". A big challenge to combine songs from 5 different producer teams on one CD without bending the soul of a single song: https://open.spotify.com/album/6qCYObNjXCIDrW3MBXTWLy?si=8X0AnUbURpGnhBhJtazLZg
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What should your track sound like? What's the mx loudness you want?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: The more accurate you make your presentation of the final. sound, the faster a mixing or mastering engineer will be able to achieve your desired result. Especially with the first order it often happens that the result still needs small changes. But once the customer's profile has been established, the results are achieved quickly and perfectly.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: MacBook Pro, my headphones, keyboard, faderport and a barrel of red wine...
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Better a great song that is badly produced than a bad song that is well produced ;)
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: The ability to put myself into the sound of other people in a very short time. I have learned this ability in over 20 years as a contract producer.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First I listen to the song in peace and quiet to get a first impression of the mix, frequency ranges and dynamics. Then I compare all these points with the sonic goal of my work and start to work on the mix / master with my equipment. I often work with automation until the final result is ready. Then I get the customer's opinion and optimize the sound until the result fits perfectly.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Clarity, Punch, transparence, depth, warmth, definition and the perfect loudness for every request. Everything to make you sound better ;)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. but mostly digital to guarantee total recall for last minute changes and additional requests (extended versions, instrumentals etc) which are coming in later.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Klaas Gerling
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I never give up!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Happy customers :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I learned to play the trumpet, guitar, drums and piano at an early age. In 1996 I started as producer in a garage studio, wrote tracks for other projects and got discovery by ATB in 2000. Meanwhile I have 24 years of experience in production, mixing, mastering and also songwriting. I am a studied sound engineer and contract producer and have worked in many studios worldwide.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have two studios, multiple speakers and constant access to two other studios to make sure that your song sounds awesome on any speaker.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I work in two different ways. Both pursue the goal of implementing the customer's wishes as precisely as possible: A) The customer has an exact idea of how his own production should sound and has a reference song in mind. B) The customer also wants creative input, maybe some mixing tips to improve the pre-master before mastering.
