I grew up tending a poultry farm on the arctic plains of Minnesota. Fortunately, when your only friends are grass fed broilers you get really attached to your hobbies. Mine was music.
Why work with me? I’m obsessed with what I do. I’ve been writing and producing since I was 15 years old. I’ve written and produced songs featured on several prominent Spotify playlists including “New Music Friday Germany”, “Fresh Finds”, “New Music Friday Iceland”, “Pop Right Now”, and many more. I believe with all my heart that to succeed as a musician IT HAS TO START WITH THE SONG.
Determining if we’re a good fit → I’m not a one stop shop. I do my best work in the Pop and Alternative Pop genres. It’s where my heart is. I think there is a sweet spot where edgy and current intersect and I’m always searching for it. If you love catchy hooks and making music that pushes the pop culture envelope, let’s talk.
→ FREE TRIAL ← Up till this point I've focused solely on my own artist project "Future Friend" and am just jumping into the world of producing for others. It's something I've always wanted to do. I know you have a lot of choices on SoundBetter and trusting someone without lot's of reviews or a huge list of credits is risky. Because of that, I'm happy to start work on your project for zero dollars and if you don't like the direction we part ways...BUT...I'm pretty sure we're gonna make some mind blowingly irresistible pop magic together. Just a gut feeling.

Mitch is a great musician and a great client. Easy to work with, clear communication, and a great sound. I'd be happy to work with him anytime, and hope we can do more.

Mitch helped me with the production of a chill pop track based on my vocal and guitar demo. I really like where he took the track, this is a genre he knows well and can deliver strongly in. The end result sounds slick and I've got what I need to finish it off. Equally important, he's a nice, easy-going, friendly guy who you'll enjoy working with - I can happily recommend him for production / co-production jobs.

Great, fresh music, well-crafted and nicely balanced mix. After a couple iterations we ended up with a great master that elevated the track to a whole new level. Superb communication also, Mitch was great to work with and i hope to continue serving him well on the future. Thanks Mitch !! It was super fun !
Interview with Mitch Froemming
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The song isn’t finished until I would release it myself.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creating new things. And the satisfaction of finishing a piece of art.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your vision for this song? What artists to you listen to? What are your long term music goals? What about music excites you?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Start a conversation and see if you like the person. Work towards building long term relationships.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Acoustic guitar. iPhone. Laptop. Midi keyboard. Studio monitors.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been playing music since I was nine and started recording and producing in high school. I’m currently in a band called Future Friend but love collaborating and sharing my skill set.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Mainstream pop with an edge.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jack Antonoff. Because he’s a production and writing wizard and I want to steal his ideas.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more. Find high quality sounds and feature them instead of cluttering a mix with conflicting ideas.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop and alternative pop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Injecting life into musical ideas. Also lyrics and melodies.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A pop edge. I think I have a knack for finding hooks that feel familiar but sound brand new at the same time.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For production I typically work off of a demo and references provided by the artist. I don’t even pick up an instrument until I feel I’ve grasped the direction the artist wants to take the track. After that it’s all about finding a vibe that feels fresh and unique and building from there.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a large collection of acoustic and electric guitars ranging from Larrivees to Fenders. Ableton Live DAW. Audient iD14 interface. Avantone CV12 tube condenser. Xfer Serum. Multiple Akai midi controllers. A large collection of hand picked plugins and monthly subscription to Splice.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
