Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Try to provide some reference songs. Something that your song could be beside on a playlist.

A: My 1938 Gibson acoustic, my dobro, drums, a mic and a recording interface,
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I grew up in a recording studio. My dad has been recording artists almost my whole life. At 13 years old I was learning Pro Tools. Since then i have produced many artists and toured internationally in as a solo artist and as a hired musician on mandolin, lap steel, drums, guitar, keys and more.

A: My style is mainly folk or alt-country. I like music that is lyrically centred and often very emotional in the productions.

A: I’m often working with artists remotely helping them capture great recordings and then I edit, mix and master the songs in my studio. I often will add drums, guitars, lap steel etc as well.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is located in the Nova Scotian country side in a converted garage. It’s a great space to be creative and make music! I run a Pro Tools setup with Orion converters. I have a variety of great preamps (Capi, Ward Beck etc) and many bundles of great plugins (Slate, Waves, SSL, Soundtoys). I also have many great modern and vintage instruments including Gibson Advanced Jumbo (1938 and 2017), Gibson 50s Lap Steel, G & L Asat Special, Miller Pedal Steel, Moog synth, Ayotte drums and more.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m a huge fan of Dawes, Haim, City and Colour and more — I love their productions and they inspire me to keep creating and honing my mixing and mastering skills.
