Continues to AMAZE!
Best producer I’ve worked with period!
This is my second song that Sam created for me. His work is absolutely beautiful. Every time he surprises me with his talent and we are already working on new song again. I enjoyed working with him, he is professional and patient and he is very detail oriented which results in a high quality work of art!
Been looking for a producer like Sam for a very long time. He is patient, easy to work with, and has extremely high attention to detail in his works. Extremely lucky to be working with such a producer on my album. - KH
Sam is very reliable, professional and patient. He definitely makes sure to give you the final product exactly the way you wanted it!
Sam was a pleasure to work with. He is detail-oriented and wants to please - he had no problem adapting to our feedback. He works in the pop industry so his ear (and ideas) is 'current' - he is VERY good value as well, and if you want a quick professional job done - look no further than Sam. We are going to use him again in the new year.
Sam never disappoints. Extremely creative, and he truly knows how to collaborate.
I was blown away by Sam's samples, and when I described to him the sound I was going for, he took the time to explain how he thought through achieving the sound. He took it to another level! Highly recommended. And such a pleasure working with him that I sent him another one before the first one was even done. That's how confident I am in his work.
I am absolutely happy with our collaboration. Sam is very talented and professional, has many great and ORIGINAL ideas. Giving 100%.
Sam is my go to guy - nails my vision, every time, and turnaround time is amazing. He's a great listener and an excellent producer.
Sam is really talented! Im in love with the beats he has created. He got my directions very well and turned my Demo into a music track much better than I could imagine. He is easy to work with and he did a great job with recording my voice and vocal effects.
Sam is a highly creative, efficient, caring producer who takes extra steps up front (and all along the way) to be certain that he has captured your vision and delivered a product that is spot on and current. You will appreciate his art, as well as his high degree of professionalism. Sam is an effective and gifted communicator and collaborator.
Sam is a great producer. He understood what we were after and delivered it. Amazing sounds and overall quality. Great guy as well. Thanks.
I have worked with Sam for the better part of 3 years. Words cannot express the quality of his musicianship and his ear for detail. The only thing better than Sam the human being is Sam the producer. Multi-instrumentalist, versed in so many genres, and able to adapt to the situation. There isn't anyone else I would recommend. Sam is my go to guy for everything. You don't need to look any further. This is the man you want to hire for any job in any genre.
Sam is a gifted and highly talented producer and musician. His knowledge of the software and gear is incredible. He works quickly and efficiently but with great attention to detail. We made some pretty great music together. Don't hesitate to work with Sam.
Interview with Sam Ricci
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: My favorite part about working on music is the ability to connect with others and express myself.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: With all of the tools available to produce music today, it's easy to get caught up in the details and lose the big picture. If you find yourself stuck on something, force yourself to get up for 15 minutes. Check out new releases on Spotify or YouTube, take a walk around the block, pet your cat and feed your goldfish, and try not to think about the song or replay it in your head. If you still don't have a solution to the problem when you come back, it's ok, make a note of it and work on another part of the song.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, urban pop, EDM, hip-hop, RnB, and electronic indie music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is being able to build an instrumental that complements but doesn't shine the light away from the vocal performance and the artist.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Thoughtful and dynamic compositions with modern, trendy sounds that have enough originality and excitement to stand out.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I'm easy-going and flexible, but far from lazy, and will cater my work process to the needs of the project. I can build complete instrumentals around a vocal in 2-7 days, depending on the scale of edits. My goal is that the communication between us is strong enough from the get-go to warrant as few edits as possible.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a clean, open, sunlit room in a quiet Los Angeles neighborhood. Amenities include good vibes, fresh fruit, Indian prayer flags, and if you're into it, scented candles. Computer: 2016 MacBook Pro. Audio interface: Apogee Duet. Microphones: Audio Technica AT2035, Electro-Voice RE20, Shure SM-57, Shure SM-58. Microphone preamp: Universal Audio LA-610 Mk II. Monitors: Adam A7X. Software: Pro Tools 10, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live 9, Waves plugins, SoundToys plugins, FabFilter plugins. Instruments: American Deluxe Fender Stratocaster, Ovation Balladeer acoustic guitar, Yamaha YDP-140 keyboard, Vox AC4C1 amplifier, Arturia MicroBrute synthesizer, MicroKorg synthesizer, ukelele, charango
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common work I do is to produce instrumentals; either from scratch or to lyrics and melody that the artist has already written.
