Interview with Tannergard

  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: Modern, clean, and emotional. I aim for productions and mixes that feel big and current, but still have character and heart. Whether it’s pop, dance, or something more alternative, I try to keep things fresh, focused, and always in service of the song.

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: I’d love to work with someone like Charli XCX — she’s fearless, genre-fluid, and always pushing boundaries while keeping it pop. I’m drawn to artists who are experimental but still care about hooks, emotion, and identity. That balance is where the magic happens.

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: Don’t overbuild — if an idea isn’t working with just chords, drums, and a vocal, more layers won’t fix it. Focus on the arrangement and emotion first, then let production serve the song, not bury it. Simpler often hits harder.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: I mostly work on pop, dance, and alt-pop — anything melodic with strong emotional or rhythmic energy. I also do a lot of crossover projects that blend genres: pop with indie edges, dance with R&B vocals, or commercial tracks that still feel unique.

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: My strongest skill is knowing what a song needs — whether that’s a subtle production lift, a bold mix move, or just getting out of the way. I have a fast instinct for structure, energy, and how to get a track from good to great without overworking it.

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: I bring clarity, energy, and emotion. Whether I’m producing or mixing, I focus on making the song feel right — not just technically perfect. I aim to highlight the artist’s identity while making sure everything sounds modern, clean, and competitive. I’m fast, honest, and always here to serve the song.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: It depends on the project, but I usually start by getting a feel for your vision — references, vibe, and goals. From there, I’ll either build a full production around your vocal/topline, or we’ll develop the idea together from scratch. I share updates as we go, and once the track’s done, I’ll take care of the mix to make sure everything hits. Fast, collaborative, and always focused on getting your music release-ready.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I work in a full studio in Sweden with Neumann KH310s, Genelec 3210A, treated acoustics, I use Ableton Live, with UAD, FabFilter, Soundtoys, and plenty of custom-built chains for fast, flexible production and mixing.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: I’m inspired by producers like Max Martin and Greg Kurstin for their songwriting instinct and sonic clarity, and by people like FINNEAS or Disclosure for how they push boundaries in arrangement and sound design. I also love the clean, impactful mixes from Serban Ghenea and Jaycen Joshua.

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: I usually work with artists on full track production and mixing — either starting from a demo, voice note, or topline. I also get hired to finish tracks, build out arrangements, or mix songs that need that final polish before release. Pop, dance, and alt-leaning genres are my specialty.
