I am a Romani/ Gypsy singer specializing in jazz, blues, and dance music. I trained at the most prestigious music conservatory in Prague, and I have performed professionally for more than 15 years on cruise ships and in jazz clubs throughout the world - London, Paris, Copenhagen,Berlin, Stockholm, the Caribbean, throughout Africa, etc.
I adore singing because I love reaching out to people with music and being touched by their responses, their emotions, smiles, and tears. Since my passion is my profession, I am quite fortunate. I grew up listening to jazz, r&b, the blues, and Gypsy swing. However, I also enjoy singing dance music, EDM, house, etc. And of course, traditional Gypsy/ Romani folk music will always be near and dear to me. I have been told that I have a voice reminiscent of 1940s and 50s, one that brings to mind the likes of Amy Winehouse, Ella Fitzgerald, and Diana Krall. In fact, the famous Gypsy singer, Vera Bila, said my voice would carry me to the stars. So when challenges arise, I think of her, and keep my head up. I trained at the most prestigious conservatory in Prague (KJJ & VOS Jaroslava Jezka), which is respected throughout Europe. I will bring passion, knowledge, and joy to your project. Marta has done several songs for me, all of them different. One was a jazz standard. The other was EDM. The final one was a rock tune, believe it or not. A: I love the project I am working on now. People will hear it soon enough.

A: I am working on a retro-jazz album.

A: I would take my voice. I don't need a mic to sing. And I would take the people I love with me in my heart.

A: Yes, make sure you understand what your client wants before getting to work.

Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have been told that I have an amazing ear and that I improvise effectively with great emotion. I have also been told that I have a timeless voice, one that could also work in the 1940's and 50s.

A: Most of all, I bring honesty, passion, and authenticity, no gimmicks, no tricks, just the fruit of years of hard work and paying my dues.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to discuss in detail what the client is looking for, the tone desired, the timing, the overall style envisioned. Once I am certain that we are on the same page, it's off to the races until my client is 100% satisfied.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I like to keep my recording secrets to myself, especially the mic that I use. I believe I have a special sound. I will say that I find Logic Pro X the easiest program to work with.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by the golden of age of jazz (Ella, Charlie Parker, Dizzy), by the blues (Bessy Smith, Billie Holiday, etc.), by Gypsy swing (Django Reinhardt, Sara Lazarus), by neo soul (Erykah Badu, Jill Scott), by retro soul (Amy Winehouse), by funk, house, reggae, and by EDM music.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am commonly asked to record jazz standards for bands around Europe. (I am about to move to the U.S., by the way). I am also often paid to perform at various jazz venues and festivals throughout Europe. I also specialize in traditional Gypsy/Romani music.
