Nadav Amir-Himmel is an awarded composer, arranger, pianist, seaboard player, music director and music educator.
I received an international recognition after winning the first prize in the prestigious Dvorak Composition Competition in 2012. Since then I have earned prizes and scholarships, and my work has been commissioned and performed around the world by a variety of performers, ensembles and orchestras, including “The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra”, “The Orquesta Sinfonica De Michoacan”, “Excelsis Percussion Quartet”, “Contempo Quartet”, and more. I received Bachelor degrees in Piano and in Composition, a Master degree in Composition and a diploma in Music Technology. I delivered lectures about my work in universities around the world.
People tend to hire me for my creativity; for my vast experience in various fields of music - performing, composing, arranging, music directorship, and thus I have a broader vision on each job I am involved in; and for my excellent human relationship. The endorsements on this site may approve so.
I have composed and arranged classical, jazz, popular and Latin music for a variety of media - orchestras, groups and singers. As a pianist I have performed as a pop pianist in covers, in a jazz band, and also as a classical soloist. The process of working with me depends on the specific project and the client's requirements. Flexibility and dynamism are important, since each project demands different method and approach.

Nadav was great to work with! He gave me a whole new vision for the song I was working on and really helped bring it to life. I also really appreciated his willingness to make the few modifications I requested.
Nadav is an excellent composer and pianist. I first got to know him in 2016 during an international composers program in Shanghai and he impressed me both with the breadth of his musical knowledge and his ability to channel that through his own music. He has a wonderful ability to bring music from different time periods together which always results in exciting and original compositions. I can highly recommend him as both a musician and a composer.
I am a choir conductor and Nadav served as my accompaniment pianist. I was satisfied by his musicality and his pianistic ability. he was always committed and he even learned and played percussions when I needed. We were travelling and performing with him on Choir festival at the Dolomites Mountains. I am looking forward to work with him again and I recommend to anyone who in need of professional, talented pianist to hire Nadav.
Brilliant composer and arranger!
I have worked with Nadav on several occasions, mostly performing his pieces. As former co-principal flutist of the Israeli Opera Orchestra, I have been in contact with many composers, and I can clearly and confidently say that Nadav is an extremely talented and professional musician and composer. Not to mention the very simple fact that he is a gentle and kind person.
I know Nadav as a reliable and goal-focused worker, open-minded and with great creative potential. His musical skills are multiple and allow him to work both in the classical realm as well as in the commercial and popular sphere. I have no doubts about his bright musical future!
Nadav helped me realize my dream and revive my songs, give them a place in the world, and everything in a fun and pleasant atmosphere without compromising on professionalism. The process was collaborative and personalized with an original artistic interpretation that serves the text

היה נעים לעבוד יחד ואני בטוח שיהיו שיתופי פעולה נוספים בעתיד.As one of the producers and a co judge at the Everyday Arias short opera film festival taking place mainly in London, we've had two of Nadav's pieces of Bach meeting Elvis screened at our festival events of autumn 2017 and spring 2019, two brilliant pieces beautifully put together and very cleverly arranged. I'm looking forward to many more.
Talented and profesional musician, great to work with and very creative.
Nadav is an extremely talented pianist and composer. He has recently arranged for me two songs for trio (piano, violin and cello) and for solo piano. His arrangements are wonderful; full of imagination and good taste, witty and fresh, and very enjoyable to perform! My colleagues and I received many compliments for his arrangements.

I worked with Nadav Amir Hillel on a musical a year back. Besides being an incredibly talented musician, Nadav had a great attitude and went above and beyond when it came to helping the cast learn the music. He's also a lot of fun to work with!
Interview with Nadav Amir-Himmel
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I enjoyed composing a musical piece for orchestra based on paintings by Salvador Dali. I am a great admirer of the painter and his creative ability and composing music in relation to his paintings was a longtime dream of mine. This piece was performed in Italy, Mexico and Prague, took part in competitions (and won in some of them). I was also invited to give lectures about this piece and the relations between Music and Art in prestigious universities like Carngie Mellon, Pittsbutgh.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Few of the projects I am working on at the moment: 1) A recording of children songs I have been commissioned to compose and record by the composer of the lyrics. 2) An Electronic sound production for an Israeli song I re-harmonized and plan to record with a singer. 3) CD of arrangements for various Jewish songs commissioned by the singer.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Stella Gotshtein. She is a wonderful musician and a wonderful person to work with. I always send my pieces to her to have her opinion.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Depends on the project, the client and his/her needs.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: They will join all the clients who have already contributed their opinion about me in Soundbetter.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The ability and the opportunity to create.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How much? ;) The price depends on the requirements.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People often have a romantic misconception about art and artists and might not be aware that creating art has to do with a lot of work and artists are mainly people who chose art as their profession.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: To which audience the piece is aiming and which kind of reaction to the piece is expected or wished from the audience.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: My advice is to try to evaluate my professional and creative ability detached from the specific taste of the client. Each project requires its own musical world, which may be discussed and chosen upon a dialogue between us.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Piano, Roland RD-2000, Seaboard Rise, Seaboard Block and Macbook Pro.

Q: What's your typical work process?
