Ryan Waczek on SoundBetter

I can make a full production from just a bare-bones song that you have. I am a multi-instrumentalist: singer, guitarist, drummer, with a degree in music. I know popular music inside and out. Take a listen to my samples, each one began as just a voice memo. I turn your ideas into radio-ready hits.

About Me:

I work with major labels, established artists, all the way to brand new independent artists. As a producer, songwriter, and artist manager, I am known within the music industry for working with my artists beyond their music and strategizing their music release plan, artist brand & image, as well as marketing tactics:

"Ryan understands the latest cutting-edge technology and marketing techniques to run a successful music business."

- Steve Leslie (Grammy Award-Winning Songwriter) Nashville, TN

My Process:

Usually, artists record a demo of them playing/singing on their laptop or cell phone voice memo (w/ a click track). Then I build the production around your voice and playing!

My second project with Ryan, and he delivers what he promises, and then some! He acts as a producer in the sense that he alters bits and pieces of your song, to make it stand out more. He's a great multi instrumentalist, would definetly recommend Ryan for your project!

Ryan reached out with this lovely instrumental track asking if I would master it. What a pleasure. First time tweaking knobs with Ryan but hopefully not the last time!

Ryan is the best producer I have ever worked with. He has a great ability to find the essence of a Song and give it just the touches that it neéds, through beautiful playing and arrangement of instruments and a really crisp clear production that has a lot of nerve, depth and punch in it.
I would highly recommend using Ryan as your next producer!

Interview with Ryan Waczek

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: I promise to always work with you to find your sound and your vibe for your tracks. It's your music and I want to make sure that you shine through everything I work on.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: I love that I get to meet new people and work with talented artists that inspire my creativity as well!

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: I usually ask all my new clients to explain their bigger vision beyond their song so that I know what their long-term goals are and I can help them work towards those goals sonically.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: I usually take a demo recording or voice memo and start producing on top of your original idea.

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: I am familiar with Pro Tools, Logic, and Ableton Live. I run my sessions on a fully-upgraded iMac Pro and use a combination of plugins and outboard gear to achieve my ideal sound.

  11. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  12. A: I'm working on an Original Soundtrack for a feature film, an Electro-Pop song for a talented female artist, as well as my own original songs.

  13. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  14. A: I've become great pals with Killian Cruiser and Arthur Pingrey who are excellent providers on SoundBetter. Check them out and send some love!

  15. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  16. A: I can safely say that I have my feet planted firmly in both camps :) With my RND MBP, LA2A, 1176, and Pultec outboard pieces that I absolutely love, I truly believe that there are sounds that can only be satisfied with analog gear. But at the same time, if you are creative, you can achieve 99% of the same results. At the end of the day does it matter? Nope! I believe that the song is what matters most.

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: My advice is to ask questions, do your own research (I always google peoples names) and be absolutely sure that the producer you pick on SoundBetter will be a perfect match for your songs and music career.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: A lot of people call themselves mastering engineers...but I don't throw that term around loosely. I don't think I'd be able to qualify if I didn't have my RND Portico II Master Buss Processor, my IGS Pultech Stereo EQ, Focal Solo6 Be studio monitors, Antelope Orion 32 converters, and my Dangerous D-Box monitoring system. These pieces of gear I absolutely trust to bring me the best results possible for my music production and mastering clients.

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: I've been recording and producing since 2009 and went to music school and got my BA in music performance.

  23. Q: How would you describe your style?

  24. A: My style is definitely a combination of top-40 pop, mixed with singer-songwriter, and retro-indie sounds.

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: I would love to work with either Ed Sheeran or Dean Lewis. The way they tell stories in their songwriting is so effortless and is something I'm constantly trying to perfect with my lyric writing.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: It's not about the gear you have, or how well you play. Just look at Charlie Puth for example. He doesn't know how to play guitar but in his song "Attention," he still wrote that killer guitar intro (and recorded it one note at a time on his iPhone!!!). Don't let any restrictions get in the way of your creativity! I'm here to help you with that :)

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: I usually work on Pop, Electronic, Singer-songwriter, and Electro-pop, genres.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: Keeping up on the cutting-edge of new music releases and today's hits is my secret weapon. My strength is knowing what sounds will make a song sound modern and compete with today's greatest artists so that you can sound competitive in today's industry.

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: I perform live music every single week, am a vocalist, guitarist, and drummer, and produce a wide range of music from movie soundtracks, to electro-pop hits. The most valuable thing I bring to a song is a complete understanding of today's music and the skills to completely produce a finished product from beginning to end.

  35. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  36. A: I do music producing, write catchy vocal melodies, mix, and master.
