Originally from Japan, ra'z (Sarah Raz) is a fully bilingual vocal producer and recording engineer, and among the first female Afghan Americans based in Los Angeles. She studied music theory, science, and recording arts for 4 years.

She works with a wide range of clients, handling recording, editing, mixing, and artist development. Her past clients include Bonnie McKee (Katy Perry’s former producer and songwriter), Loren Gray (influencer, model, singer), Miyavi (Japanese guitar artist), and Yutaka Yamada (Japanese anime composer; collaborated on Stand My Heroes, Vinland Saga, and GREAT PRETENDER, released on NHK and Amazon Prime Worldwide).

She is an Artlist Original artist and released the album “Shibuya Lovers” as an executive producer, focusing on remote J-pop production with Japanese singers based in Tokyo. Songs from the album have been used in official commercials and promotional videos by major creators and influencers.

Sarah also runs the YouTube channel “ロサンゼルス音楽情報 RA'Z Channel,” where she interviews Japanese artists and engineers. Her most popular video, featuring a recording engineer, has surpassed 1 million views.

Her expertise includes writing tracks for artists, creating catchy top-lines, and pushing artists beyond their vocal limits. She excels at discovering new vocal qualities and efficiently recording, editing, and mixing tracks.
