Taylor Hollingsworth on SoundBetter

2,000,000+ Spotify, analog mixing/mastering, and a love for all things music. Whether it's Pop Punk or Acoustic Singer/Songwriter, I would love to be involved with your next project. Between mixing artists for over 10 years and working professionally in post production for 4 years, I live and breathe all things sonically creative.

My name is Taylor Hollingsworth and I am a musician who has a passion for mixing / mastering. I work out of studios in the Orange County scene as well as run a home studio in Los Angeles County. My home studio is hybrid so I have a great collection of outboard gear from SSL, Neve, API and more as well as all the top industry leading plug-ins. My top priority is to make your project stands out from the rest, while remaining sonically competitive with the current mixes from top artists. Whether your mix needs punch and width to cut through every sound system or intimacy and clarity to evoke emotion, I am confident that I will achieve the best sounding mix for your project. Please reach out if you have any questions, I would love to chat about your project!

Interview with Taylor Hollingsworth

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: Chandler Dixon for all things drums! He is the nicest guy I've ever met and I love working with him. The drum sounds he gets are so unique and vibey, I can't recommend him enough.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Both! I think the affordability, flexibility, and practicality of digital is unmatched. There is some things analog provides that digital doesn't, but every day it gets closer. I use a hybrid approach where individual tracks are mostly treated digitally but grouped tracks (drums, vocals, guitars etc) are treated with analog. Of course, every song is different and I always follow what is best for the song!

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I started playing guitar over 15 years ago. I naturally found a love for recording when I wanted to write and record my own demos. It evolved into a passion exceeding guitar and I started recording and mixing local bands any chance I could. Fast foward to my college years and I have a BA in Digital Media Arts with an emphasis on Audio Engineering. Right after graduating, I landed a full time job working post production and still continue to work with artists in my free time.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: Some of my biggest influences in the mixing world are Kyle Black, Eric Valentine, and Will Yip.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: Pop Punk, Alternative Rock, Rock, Metal, Pop Rock, Hip Hop, and Pop.
