Berlin based Producer and Mastering Engineer.
I am a minimalist, perfectionist and I absolutely love what I do.
Check out my work at www.idanaltman.com and feel free to write me if you have any questions.

I am a jazz trained musician, arranger and songwriter and I have a highly minimalist approach to music production which means that I do not use a lot of microphones and processors. I find that working in this way simplifies the process and enables me to achieve a natural and well defined sound.

My mastering workflow starts with listening to the material and comparing it to a reference track provided by the artist. This helps me to understand the artist´s taste and conclude if there is anything that could be improved in the mix. I then communicate this to the artist or mixing engineer and once the adjustments are made, I start mastering the tracks. I find that working in this way helps the artist get the most out of the mastering process while learning more about the process, and improving the quality of their mixes and productions over time.

I have also been teaching music production in the past 4 years teaching at dBs Music, Abbey Road Institute and hosting workshops for Spinnup, Gigmit, Noize Fabrik and many others. I have learned to incorporate my teaching abilities with my studio work which means that I always make sure that you understand what I'm doing, why I chose a certain technique and what are the alternatives. I find that working in this way does not only get you the desired results, but will also help you develop your production skills on the long term.

I am so happy with the work Idan did on my track. Not only was the end result exactly what I wanted, but his professional approach to prompt communication and the time frame in which the song was finished, has been really impressive. I will definitely work with Idan again in the future. I highly recommend him as a producer.
