I am super happy with James' work. He improved the track in exactly the right ways, doing his job as a mastering engineer very well. Communication was fast, friendly and enjoyable... I can only recommend to work with James!
I had the pleasure of mutually working with James in Waves(R) audio company. James is not only a pro but a great guy to work with, highly passionate about music, with extra high abilities.
Working with Guy as a producer, for mixing and mastering always has been a absolute pleaseure, gift and treasure to my own music as well as for commercial jobs.
There are few people I know who bring so much care, sensitivity and professinalism to their work combined with great taste and open ears and mind for what the music needs.
He cares about the concent and the quality of the music rather than making it scream the loudest out of the radio.
Above all he is a great person to be with and to spend time with equally proffessional and as frind and colleague.

Lovely experience <3
The Meimberg GmbH has been working with Guy for over two years now, he’s responsible for the live-recording, mix and mastering for a music show we produce for public television online. We create a unique stage for every guest – on an alpaca field, in a thrift store, in a forge – places, where there is usually no live music, where you have to come up with special solutions and unique sound-visions. Guy’s ability to capture the very heart of the music of our guests and the special stage, make him an essential part of our crew. His vision of sound is inspiring and unique - as he is as a person.
Is difficult to find so much talent and so much love in one person. Working with Guy is always a pleasure, his style, energy and humbleness makes his remarkable work unique.
Guy will make you sound better, most attentive mixer i know, will bring your vision to life and care for your music!
It was a pleasure to work together, Guy, looking forward to the next project!
Always a pleasure to let this Guy mess with my stuff. Always finds a way to drop in something i didn't think about before. A pair of ears to trust!
Guy has wonderful ears and sensitivity for details,
He made a huge impact to my music.
just let Guy do wonders to your music. I have seen and heard him work his magic pretty much from day one and it has always been delightful.
We have worked with Guy since 2012 and have always been amazed by his abilities both as a mixing and mastering engineer. He's always been quick and on point, clarifying issues in a mix never took more than a short email. We also got a lot of positive feedbacks when our song got played on large sound systems, that's where you really notice the depth of his work. Highly recommended and definitely worth the price.
A very professional and one of a kind person. I truly recommend this guy if you find yourself in need of a mix or sound work around Berlin DE.
The perfect colleague, a great talent of an engineer with a great set of ears! try him, you wont regret it!
Interview with James
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Hybrid is the way for me, because it enables a fast and intuitive workflow which can serve as its own source of inspiration. I use some of the finest machines there are for mixing and mastering and am constantly thinking about how to improve the setup even more.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: It's not done till you are happy with the result
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the challenge and that moment you feel you cracked it. I love imagining a vision and then realizing in any way or tool I have.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been working in music for more than 20 years. Studied audio engineering first, then while working in recording studios I studied composition for picture. Then, practiced both professions and combined them, making music and productions including a band I co produced and was the lead singer. I like playing piano for fun and still making music. At some point I got a job offer to work in Waves Audio where i worked for 5 years and my way up to be a product manager. I learned a lot there and from the talented people working there and I am very grateful for that. I kept getting requests for mixing and I loved it. Until at some point I decided to focus on it and started James studio. From there I got more and more into mastering, had many mentors as well while gaining a lot of practice, knowledge and experience.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I like it warm, punchy and groovy, I love the small details in the right moments.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Even the most complex and overwhelming detail will look simple when it is far away, and vice versa.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Everything I got ! If the song needs it. I serve the song, I wanna maximize its emotional impact in a way that feels right for it. That said, I won't impose anything on it. But I will make sure on all professional aspects to deliver high standard quality results.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I would always begin by listening - have a talk/chat with the artist, get to know him, his style and understand his expectations of me. Then of course I will listen to the music. I would listen as many times as I feel needed, visualizing how I will do the task in hand, till I know and understand how I can make this piece of music more exciting, more emotionally impactful. Once I have the vision, I begin. Probably at the highest moment of the song, from there it varies from project to project and the task in hand. I will know I am done once I can listen from the top to the end and stay in my comfort zone.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My Setup is hybrid, i use both digital and the analog domains. I gave a lot of thought to my work flow and that everything will be fast and intuitive to keep the creative process in all times. I am constantly exploring and improving it. I see gear and setup as source of inspiration as well. My outboard analog gear includes some of the finest machines for mastering and mixing.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by artist who are connected to them selves, passionate and committed to what they do because they love it. some specific artists : Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Grizzly Bears, Miles Davis, Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, ORI, Gallant, Kendrick Lamar. And many professionals whom i had the pleasure to learn from: Manny Marroquin, Michael Brauer, Friedemann Tyschmayer, Tony Maserati and more.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mastering and Mixing.
