Rafa is EXTRAORDINARY. His talent, creativity, ease of workflow and empathy with clients is PEERLESS. Ive been doing this a long time and Rafa is the best I've ever worked with. He will take your music and put it into another realm. Truly. Did I mention he is one of the nicest/funniest people in the business and will turn your music around very quickly. I now consider Rafa a good friend and I will work with him for as long as I continue to create music. He is THAT good. Thank you Rafa 🙏🙏🙏

RAFA brought a unique sound into our sound design project, creating high-quality synth patches and drum kits that really stood out. On top of that, he was an excellent communicator, very professional, and turned out his work well within our deadline. Couldn't have asked for a better pro.

RAFA is then again my favourite Soundbetter producer!
We work efficiently together: he comes up with the major ideas in terms of the remixes he's done on my tracks, I gave some edits and then again, together we come up with the finished product.
It's about team work and he is the kindest person I've met in the music industry!Everything has been on time and clear, transparent from day one.
And yeah, he's also f*****g good, so he is your man xx :) - check_circleVerified
I worked with RAFA for 1 song from scratch (production, recording, mixing + mastering). The final mix of the song was not what I was expecting. Especially after hearing RAFA's work as DEMUR. The song we made just sounds more like a demo rather than a final version, even after several mixing notes. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to continue working on the song.

I came to Rafa with an idea to recreate a song for my horror series hunting purgatory! I wanted it to sound similar to nine inch nails with a grunge industrial vibe. He killed it! Will be coming back to this guy for any and all future projects! I Highly recommend his service!

Interview with RAFA
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I would say it's a song called Losers For Life that I co-produced and co-wrote, but it's not out yet, maybe one day you'll hear it. It's very interesting hah.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on a DEMUR EP and various clients records, including something from a great violinist named DSharp.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I know two great people, James Ruehlman and Dan Konopka and I would 100% recommend both of them!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, we're in the future now baby!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That i'll put 100% effort into anything you ask me to do for you.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I'm my own boss and I get to be creative and do something i'm actually good at.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Them: How the hell did you make this? Me: I have no idea.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy and anyone can do it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I always ask what their vision is and what they want to achieve with this particular song we'll be working on.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Pick the right tool for the right job, if i'm the right tool, well then, lucky me.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My computer, Lynx Hilo, PMC twotwo6's, Slate Digital Mic with the pre.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been producing music since I was 15 but I started taking it seriously as a career when I was 19 and had a beatport top 100 charting track.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Edgy but still digestible.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: The Prodigy because they are legends.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Knowing what you want to achieve with a record makes it much easier to finish a song and sometimes it's good to sit there and just think about what you want your song to sound like instead of trying to throw things against the wall and see what sticks.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on Electronic music and some hip hop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is technical music production and arrangement. I'll come up with the best samples, sounds and "vibe" and I know how to make it sound 100% PRO quality.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring almost 10 years of experience making very popular tracks within the electronic music community and a quick turnaround.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I love to sit down with a client and understand their overall grand vision for the project before I touch anything their working on. I've found that artists tend to have an issue focusing their effort on one specific lane and I try my best to understand exactly what I need to be focused on so we can achieve the task at hand.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a full recording studio at a studio facility in the heart of Hollywood with a recording booth, monitors, mics, a badass LED wall, a nice espresso machine and a comfy couch. The works!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love what Trent Reznor from the Nine Inch Nails is doing, he inspired me completely.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do mostly production work for my clients, that includes producing the song, recording the vocals, etc. I also do a lot of mixing and touch up work for halfway done songs that need a little extra instrumentation.
